manual clutch realism

I've been enjoying the new McLarens but I have a question. Driving the M23, even with the clutch help disabled I can always change gears up and down without ever using the clutch pedal, which is disappointing. Is there a way to fix that? I am no Emerson Fittipaldi, so I am pretty sure I am not...
