The high-end sim racing hardware market continues to grow, and one of the most advanced manufacturers that exclusively focuses on the segment is BavarianSimTec. We caught up with them at ADAC SimRacing Expo 2024.
With their lineup of high-end formula wheels, BavarianSimTec have made a name for themselves among sim racers who are ready to invest a good sum into their steering wheel. At ADAC SimRacing Expo 2024, the company presented a few new pieces of gear - of course, @Michel Wolk had to go and check it out.
Their Alpha and Omega wheels now have color-coded lights for their rotary switches that make it easier to recognize what certain modes are for. For example, you a rotary could have a red backlight for settings 1 to 3 indicating engine maps for dry conditions, green light for settings 4 to 6 indicating damp maps, and blue for the rest to signify wet maps.
For this, profiles for over 100 cars in Assetto Corsa Competizione and iRacing are available, and the same is true for shift light profiles so they match the in-game cars' RPM lights.
Meanwhile, as BavarianSimTec wheels heavily rely on SimHub integration, the hardware manufacturer is now also developing its own software for similar purposes to reduce dependency on the third-party program. Furthermore, they also introduced a button box in Dortmund.
