Škoda will make its Gran Turismo series debut soon with a ground-up design for the gaming series.

The Škoda Vision Gran Turismo will mark the series debut for the Czech brand – nearly 27 years since the first GT game was released.

This new model will be an all-wheel-drive electric vehicle, with a teaser image hinting at a low-slung design. There appears to be a raised central area for a driver and is said to be a single-seater.

The design is said to be contemporary, with elements perhaps previewing future road-going models, mixed with the 1957 Škoda 1100 OHC Spider.

The Vision Gran Turismo programme seeks to allow automotive car designers – among others – to create their ‘dream’ car, assuming road rules and profit margins aren’t a factor.

The first was the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo in 2013’s Gran Turismo 6. Last year, two more were added to the roster, when Genesis and fashion brand Bulgari unveiled their creations which have subsequently been added to Gran Turismo 7.

The Škoda VGT will now be added to the list of vehicles confirmed for the game, but have yet to be added, alongside the Honda Afeela.

The full review will be held from the PLAYzone Arena in Prague on 24th April 2024.
