Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown Players To Receive In-game Compensation

In the latest patch announcement for Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown (TDUSC), compensation for players who could not access the game they paid for early are due to receive compensation, but not in the form previously promised.

This second major patch for TDUSC comes at a pivotal point for the title. After a publically humiliating release, the remaining player base has been waiting for the servers to stabilise and for compensation if they paid to access the game early.

The player base has taken to X to show their disappointment in the promised compensation.

Compensation

To most TDUSC players, this statement in the latest patch notes will be a punch in the gut to any chance of seeing some of their hard-earned money back. An in-game car and some stickers are the complete opposite of what the developers promised players in the first major patch.

"To thank you for your patience and support, an exclusive ‘Adventurer’ off-road edition of the 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe will be given to all Gold Edition players who have played the game before October 12th.

A pack of 5 ‘Pioneers of the Solar Crown’ premium stickers will also be part of this compensation, with more details coming in the next weeks.

However, all hope is not lost. More details are to follow shortly and they have to be financial compensation, that is if NACON stick to their previous promise of the compensation extending further than simple in-game items.

Changelog

The changelog for the patch contains a fairly substantial amount of fixes and changes ranging from game-breaking glitches when traffic spawns and a patch to allow select AMD GPUs to work with the game. Small changes like the fonts of the car brands have also been adjusted to mimic reality.

Having read numerous reviews on this game, I decided not to purchase it at the moment until things look more stable.

Personally, if purchased it would not bother me if I received any in game compensation, such is life, moving on.

It would bother me if I paid specifically for early access and they weren't able to provide early access.

I wouldn't expect compensation for it just being a game that didn't meet expectations, I have dozens of games in steam that were regretful purchases and that have barely been played.

(still dirty I didn't get a refund for EA WRC though)

They don't have the money to refund you.

75 people currently playing on Steam
3881 all time peak.
358 average players over the last 30 days.

It doesn't matter what NACON does, nothing will fix Solar Crown. And these people will simply move onto the next franchise.
And i guess that 50% of this ppl will blind buy Nacons/KTs next wonderful franchise.....

This "compensation" is a jake anyway, especially the stickers :roflmao:
