Ride The ACC Nordschleife Hype Train In Our Racing Club

This weekend, the NLS season kicks off - and if you are itching for some GT3 action at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, our Racing Club has the perfect event for you. But what is the Racing Club exactly?

Finally, after a winter with a lot of controversy among endurance series at the Nürburgring, the 2024 NLS season kicks off on April 6 and 7 at the infamous Nordschleife. A pair of 4-hour races sees over 100 cars in various classes compete at the Green Hell, with GT3 being the fastest, of course.

As luck would have it, Assetto Corsa Competizione - as the premier GT3 sim - has just seen the addition of the track on April 1, as probably no sim racer under the sun will have missed. So, what better way to get your fix of the GT3 part of the NLS season opener than a Racing Club event at the circuit?

This is exactly what is going to happen on Monday, April 8. At 19:00 UTC, practice for a 50-minute race including a mandatory pit stop kicks off. Want to be part of it? Check out the event thread in the Racing Club forum! You will likely come across a few OverTake staff members on track as well.

Just a week later, a longer event at Spa-Francorchamps is on the menu, by the way. You can take on the 144-minute GT3 race dubbed 'The Epic Endurance Race' either alone or as part of a team. Mark your calendars for April 13, 18:00 UTC!

What is the Racing Club?

As we recently merged our websites, the OverTake community that had not been around on RaceDepartment before, we felt it might be useful to explain what the Racing Club actually is. Simply put, it is just what the name implies - a club to go racing in.

There is a bit more to it though, of course. The Racing Club hosts events throughout the week in the following simulations:

  • Assetto Corsa
  • Assetto Corsa Competizione
  • Automobilista 2
  • EA Sports WRC
  • RaceRoom (currently inactive)
  • rFactor 2

Racing Club events are open to Premium Members only. However, there are occasional 'Rookie Weeks' or non-Premium Member events to allow everyone to try the Club. To keep track on what events are happening during the week, keep an eye on our Racing Club Schedule post, which will be updated weekly.

Just Good, Clean Racing

If you are hesitant about online racing, the Racing Club is nothing to be afraid of. The contrary, actually: It is not about competitive racing and who wins in the end, but rather about having a good time on track - with good, clean racing. This is the core element of the Racing Club.

Do not be afraid to ask for help if you need it, either! The Club regulars are a helpful bunch, so even online newcomers should feel comofortable in no time and even learn a thing or two.

There are Racing Club rules, of course. They include certain on-track behavior that is expected of participants, like how to handle incidents and racing around other cars. You can find the full Racing Club rules list here.

How To Sign Up

Getting up and running for Club races is easy. As a Premium Member, simply head to the Racing Club forum, find the thread of the event you want to participate in, and state your intent to be on the grid. The Club staff member who organizes the event will add you to the list of drivers then. Note that you will need to have your real name added to your user profile in order to race, as part of the Club rules. Your username does not need to be changed, though.

Come race time, you will receive the server password. Simply show up, join the party on the OverTake Discord server and go racing - have fun, and see you on track!

My second year in the racing club, I started here as a total beginner in sim racing and ACC, it’s by far the best community I’ve raced in since I started sim racing, other members always there to help in every aspect of the ACC races. Sprint, Endurance, Multi Class… always various events to sign up to, if you are a fan of ACC and GT Racing in general ….get signed up!

downloaded ACC again just to try Nordschleife... meh, looks nice, but i prefer AC with CSP and ppf, and i prefer the physics of AC, and i like to have the option of Manual shift cars instead of GT3 cars with paddle shift, ACC just feels too easy to drive, almost like FM7 Or Gran Turismo.
