rFactor 2 Releases New British F3 Tatuus Car


Studio 397 released a video Wednesday featuring their new Tatuus MSV F-020 car in a lap around Spa Francorchamps in rFactor 2.

In a video released Wednesday on the official Studio 397 YouTube channel, former British F3 driver driver and racing coach Callan O'Keeffe took us on a lap of Spa Francorchamps in rFactor 2 using the latest addition to the racing sim, the Tatuus MSV F-020.

Like the first batch of Tatuus cars for rFactor 2 released in June of 2019, the MSV F-020 has been made available to owners of rFactor 2 for free. This is the same car used in the BRDC British Formula 3 series.

Tatuus’ MSV F-020 features a Mountune 2.0L engine producing 230bhp mated to a 6-speed paddle shift transmission. The dry weight of the car is just 495kg, making the car nimble and surprisingly quick.

The Tatuus cars in rFactor 2 are hard to beat for fans of the lower tiers of open wheel racing. The handling is extremely sharp and puts the onus on the driver to find speed through clean racing lines through the corners rather than brute force down the straightaways.

The Tatuus MSV F-020 is now available for rFactor 2 for free by subscribing to it in the Studio 397 Steam Workshop.

Hard to talk about AI updates on topic in front page threads when there are no AI updates :roflmao:
Anybody can open his own topic and be boring and repetative there.

Didn't have a chance to try this new car but definitely will because Tatuuses are great sim cars.
One of them, can't remember which one, has one the best feeling ffb in whole rf2 to me which is quite a feat.

If AI is that bad you can't drive to save yourself then ..........
Anybody can open his own topic and get ignored as way less people go there compared to front page staff threads. Just so we are clear, only a guy asked here politely if there were any AI updates, if there is a reason to download rF2 (installation is another mess so I would ask it as well). And the "opposition" was right away complaining about people "complaining" about the AI. That's why I reacted. There is no need to write about AI issues, they are very well known and documented. What there might be a need for, is to make it a priority for S397 by talking about it to a point that they can't ignore it.

Lots of people are frustrated not because rF2 AI is "bad", lots of sims have suboptimal AI (all sims to be honest). It's because it used to be good, the best even, and at least some systems broken today used to work (I remember safety cars in the ISI days). It's the same sentiment behind people being vocal about AMS2 - we know what Reiza was able to make previously. It's not only about being good or bad, it's not even about a comparison to other sims from other developers.

I don't want to talk specifically about the AI, it's just beating a dead horse. But I don't feel like S397 is... on it, based on previous developments, like the notorious UI. My hope is that how rF2 helps the next releases of Motorsport Games, that's maybe how the expertise from these new games finds its way to rF2, maybe in the form of AI improvements. Would be very nice to see a dev system like that.

As far as this new free Tatuus racing car is concerned, it is always nice to get these. The driving exprience I had around Lime Rock was decent, but I feel the default setup leaves a lot of potential in the car. As far as graphics go, I rate this somewhere midpack, Studio 397 has had nicer looking releases, rF2 offers better, but also worse looking content. My main criticism that applies to all these Tatuus cars, is that it would be nice to have more liveries and if possible better liveries per car. Having the BRDC F3 liveries would make it much more desirable to drive, at least in my case. (I know, licensing, money, etc.)

PS: Remember, there are "haters" and there are "people who want a product to improve to be more successful". Easy to confuse the two groups sometimes. We are arguing here in a language that is not native to a lot of us. A little bit of patience from all sides would go a long way, that applies to... everything, especially in recent times. Have a very nice day all, regardless of your opinion of rF2 AI! :)
 
Had some 5 laps sprints @ Silverstone International , 35AI tatuus all models
with no qual. so fastest and slowest up and down field to make harder on AI
Not many incidents considering was good fun even though I rarely use them
Loaded in 65 seconds , first load 3 minutes
