Sim Formula Europe 2025 kicks off the new sim racing year in Maastricht from January 16 to 19 - including a unique competition that levels the playing field for pros and community racers.

Sim racing will be off to a flying start in 2025, as Sim Formula Europe opens its doors at MECC Maastricht from January 16 to 19 again alongside InterClassics. A perfect opportunity to meet fellow sim racers, exhibitors, and even OverTake, as we are on board as Sim Formula Europe's official media partner again.

Just like in 2024, there will be a competitive element to the event as well - but with a unique twist that makes the competition stand out from any others. 2024's pitted professional esports drivers against each other for the glory of the win and their share of the €10,000 prize pool. Drivers had to qualify for the quarter final via a hot lap competition, from where the fastest 60 proceeded to the semifinal. Only eight prevailed to make it to the final.

Some of this is back on the table for 2025, too. There will be a prize pool. There will be competitive racing at the event, including a grand final. And there will be eight pro drivers again, but this time, the community has a vote in this. Sim Formula Europe is working on filling the pool of drivers with entrants from the following teams:
  • Alpine Esports
  • Apex Racing Team
  • Brabham Esports
  • BS+ Competition
  • Coanda Esports
  • CoRe SimRacing
  • Dörr Esports
  • Ferrari Esports
  • Fyra SimSport
  • G2 Esports
  • Guild Racing
  • Lamborghini Esports
  • Mercedes-AMG Esports Team
  • MOUZ
  • R8G Esports
  • Race Clutch Esports
  • Red Bull Esports
  • Rocket Simsport
  • Simufy Esports
  • Team Falcons
  • Team Heusinkveld
  • Team Redline
  • Veloce Esports
  • Virtus.pro
  • Visceral Esports
  • Williams Esports

Make sure to vote for your favorite team that you want to see compete at Sim Formula Europe 2025 – or the ones you would like to face off against - in the poll above! Voting will be open until November 4.

NOTE: In order to vote, you need an OverTake account. Don't have one yet? No problem! Simply sign up, and once it's activated, you will be able to participate in the poll.

Your Time To Shine Against The Pros

You could end up on stage for the grand final and take on the pros, with the event being broadcast around the world via live stream, by showing up to Sim Formula Europe 2025 and setting a time in one of the rigs on-site. No online leaderboard, no qualifying races from home.

But wait, does that mean the competition is going to throw in eight community drivers against some of the best-prepared esports sim racers? Well, not quite - this is where the Sim Formula Europe 2025 competition differs from all other sim racing events out there: Practice will be impossible, even for the pro drivers.

In an unprecedented approach, the SFE 2025 competition will use a platform that none of its participants will be able to practice on ahead of the event - there may or may not be a link to something @Marcel Offermans is currently up to. The car and track combination will also be kept secret until it is time to hit the track - so the playing field is indeed level for all 16 drivers.

This could be your seat to battle 8 pro sim racers and 7 other community drivers at Sim Formula Europe 2025.

In short: You could race against eight pro sim racers for your chance at a share of the prize pool, with the exact same conditions as every other driver on the grid - no practice, no setups that have been painstakingly created over multiple weeks, no head-start for anyone. The only condition for community drivers: You cannot be a contracted driver or have taken part in a major series or events.

If this sounds like something you would love to dive into, join us in Maastricht for four days of sim racing fun to kick off 2025! Tickets for Sim Formula Europe 2025 are already available, so make sure to grab yours - see you in January!

What do you think of the brand-new competition format for Sim Formula Europe 2025?, and which teams do you want to see at SFE 2025? Let us know in the comments below and vote for your favorites in the poll above!

I think i only heard of 3 of the teams on this list.

  • Team Redline - Max's team. And the iracing legend Greger Huttu
  • Veloce Esports - Jardier's team
  • Williams Esports - If i remember correct this was the team that was very debated if they cheated a few years ago on Daytona with going below the line

Sorry, but I don't catch your post and this animated stuff too. Maybe I'm too old.
Max is racing for Team Redline if I'm correct and is for sure one of the best if not the best sim-racer (according to stats if I remember). I don't have interest in esport but there was another news where we discussed about it.
