After our attempts to make predictions for the cars releasing with Gran Turismo 7 version 1.54, we now know for sure what they are and what else is being added in the next update.

In our previous coverage of the upcoming GT7 update (which we assumed would be 1.53 but is actually 1.54), we correctly predicted four of the five cars being added: The Ford Escort RS Cosworth, Mercedes-Benz W196R (open wheel version), Porsche 911 Turbo S (992) and Suzuki Jimny Sierra JC are all coming to GT7.

The one we got wrong was the Porsche Mission X, a high performance EV that is the successor to the 918 Spyder. It produces 1,500 horsepower and weighs around 1,500 kilograms resulting in a roughly 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, and it is expected to enter production for 2027.

Along with these new cars, there are a few other interesting additions coming to Gran Turismo 7.

What Else Is Being Added?

First up, a new extra menu. If you have in your vehicle collection three of the Ferrari limited-edition anniversary cars - the F40, F50 and Enzo - then you can earn a prize from the Ferrari Speciale menu in the café, accessible from Collector Level 48.

For the wheels and rims enthusiasts amongst us, a new option has opened up in GT Auto, that being Rotiform. There are also new events being added in World Circuits, a Jimny Cup race on Grand Valley - South, Porsche Cup at Laguna Seca and a Race of Turbo Sportscars event on Mount Panorama.

Finally for those interested in the advanced GT Sophy AI, two more tracks can be ran with them. Trial Mountain Full Course and Tokyo Expressway East Clockwise will have the advanced and emotive opponent drivers. That is all that has been stated in the official announcement but there may be more, like a new Menu Book that was also left out of October's update announcement.

What's the use of that AI when you still start last and need to chase the rabbit.
I don't think you actually start last in the Sophy races. Plus unlike regular races, the leaders aren't starting almost half way round the lap when you go.

So it’s basically back to the old pre-PS3 format of rolling start 😅

Have they fixed the FFB for Fanatec GT DD Pro yet?

Last I tried (a small few months ago) the FFB was ridiculously weak and broken, and I currently can't try it out to see if it's working as it should.

Can you remember which cars you were trying out? I drove the Group C Nissan and Mazda over the weekend and I actually had to turn it down a bit to get it on-par with how I have it in rF2. I found it does seem to vary between cars though.

I got confused when Gran Turismo did away with the qualifying part of the racing, now we have a bigger grid and the player always starts somewhere near the back and it doesn't promote the idea of fair racing, the cars are so spaced out it's almost laughable,
I really can't understand why anyone would think that the rolling start 28 seconds down in a four or five lap race would be a good thing, you need a car 5-6 seconds a lap faster than the leader just to make up that difference with nothing else on the track, if you have to pass a pleathora of cars to boot you could do with a car that's 8-10 seconds a lap faster, it's like getting an LMP car and racing it against GT3's.

However, Polyphony and Sony have had all the money they're going to get from me, and the above is just one of the reasons.

So sorry for not replying sooner (I forgot).

Many thanks indeed for confirming the FFB situation. I don't recall which cars I tried - was just a couple of them and I've not touched GT7 in 2-3 months now. I only remember cranking FFB to max and it felt like 30% strength of what I know the GT DD can do, so something wasn't working right.

I haven't updated driver (& firmware) since 455 so maybe that could be playing a part in why it was so weak(?)
