Three down, two more to go - the OverTake British GT4 Championship in Assetto Corsa Competizione is heating up! After a rain-soaked round 3, we are off to Snetterton tonight.
Stereotypical British weather awaited us for round 3 of the OverTake British GT4 Championship in Assetto Corsa Competizione: A rain-soaked Oulton Park put car control and concentration to the test, with darkness rolling late in the hour-long race as well.
After @Jordan64011 managed to put their Alpine A110 GT4 on pole position by not even four hundreths of a second ahead of @RedLMR56, the latter put in a remarkable performance in the wet, leading 24 of the 33 laps along the way to claim the top step of the podium
Behind them, there was chaos at the start, however. A pile-up at Hislop's meant that numerous cars sported dents moving forward, some quite considerable deformation. In the early laps of the race, drivers did slide of the track frequently, re-shuffling the order frequently.
In the end, only five of the 15 starters finished on the lead lap, with @Jordan64011 and the author himself completed the podium.
With Oulton Park in the books, the penultimate round of the league awaits at Snetterton. This former airfield now features a twisty - some might say cumbersome - infield, so most of the lap will emphasize cornering speed of the cars.
