NASCAR 21: Ignition | Release and Pre-Order Dates Announced

NASCAR 21 Ignition Release Date 01.jpg
The highly anticipated NASCAR 21: Ignition from Motorsport Games will be available for pre-order from August 12th, with a release date scheduled for October 28th of this year.

Motorsport Games has been building excitement and anticipation around their forthcoming NASCAR title, known as NASCAR 21: Ignition. Motorsport Games’ Twitter account gave us word late Wednesday that the title is due to release in late October of this year, with pre-orders available as of the 12th of August.

The tweet contained a video as well, showing Unreal Engine based replay footage but no in-game racing footage. The video built a tone of high action and dramatic incidents that players could experience in-game this October.

Much of the anticipation in the sim racing community surrounding this title came from the news that rFactor’s physics engine would be utilized by Motorsport Games in the development of the game. This bit of development news was issued in a press release shortly following the acquisition of Studio 397 by Motorsport Games this past spring. This doesn’t mean that identical driving physics will be used in NASCAR 21: Ignition as rFactor 2, but it does set a high ceiling for what could be accomplished in the title.

A visit to the NASCAR 21: Ignition website shows game cases for the Xbox ONE and Playstation 4 consoles alongside cover art for the PC release on Steam. Conspicuously absent from the image are the current gen console cases or any other mention of PS5 or Series X. The cover art is shown for each platform in two versions: the Standard version and the Champions Edition.

Pre-Ordered copies of NASCAR 21: Ignition will get access to the title 2 days earlier than the public release, and those who order the Champions Edition will get the full game plus the Bill Elliot playable character and paint schemes, three DLCs (also available by purchasing the Season Pass), and a Career Booster.

iceRacing is now only sim to play NASCAR online and that sucks due to iceRacing icy physicks and subscription. i hope this game change it even if it be arcade i know i will play it. and thats kinda wierd there are no NASCAR online games.
but i do NASCAR servers in AMS2 i choose DAYTONA ROAD course, turn off penalties and set 5-10 min race time and we can race till clock is gone. there are no winner of course but we have fun

Odd question maybe but it isnt stated anywhere - multiplayer? I'd assume so but you never know...

The video doesn't really give any indication about the game, so let's wait and see.

As for the lack of PS5 boxes in the ad, that's ok, I only simrace on a PC. Also, I don't know anybody who has managed to find a PS5! :p

Id like to take this moment in time to inform the person at monster/motorsport games who comes up with the soundtracks to their titles and tell them what a terrible job they're doing. SRT soundtrack is atrocious. The genre of racing series they cover requires a raw rock 'n roll sound that borders on heavy metal. Not this plastic poncy rubbish that lacks any soul to it.

Good day..

I'm going to choose to be cautiously optimistic about this release - it could be a good one.

The Heat series, for all its promise, I think was on the whole, "meh, ok". Hopefully this can be a fresh start. It's a really fun type of racing, we could use a good game.

Exactly, we don't know anything yet. Until there is some gameplay footage we can't judge the game and even after that we should reserve judgement for the btcc and the le mans game as they might take a different approach to them

If you are producing 4 games in one year, do you think they will be 4 totally separate projects? There is no reason to believe any of the titles will vary in details such as which audience they are going for. If the Nascar title is simcade, the other three will be as well. (Not because Nascar is special, but because the company will choose it's level of realism for the largest sales, the other 3 will match that in the name of maximizing sales)
Further, if Nascar is super-dooper real, it might scare away other buyers and that may also infect the later projects coming thru the MG pipeline.

I mean they have been in development for a long time. And to be really honest, I don't mind if it's a simcade(I might get a lot of hate for this) but the reason I don't mind if it's a simcade is that simcade games usually have very good single player which I really enjoy. I can't think of a single sim which has a good single player career mode. I can only think of Acc and gtr2 and even there it's just passable

Not many hope about this title, don't think it will be a proper simulation, I guess it will be Codemaster F1 like...

Trailer looks great. From the little driving we have seen nothing screamed arcade yet. We will obviously have to wait for gameplay to see where it's at. However if this is at least on the simulation level of the F1 games with good FFB, it's going to be really exciting. Cautious optimism here. Simracing needs something new...
