Available for free from the PlayStation store on December 6th, My First Gran Turismo is designed for new and young future sim racers. It teaches users about a set list of cars, ranging from American muscle cars to modern Japanese sports cars. Lots of modes and a simplified version of Gran Turismo 7 are a fantastic way to introduce new players to the hobby.
The iconic 'License Centre' is back, bringing My First Gran Turismo's learning environment to the forefront of the game. After all, this is precisely what this small introduction to the world of Gran Turismo 7 is all about.
Alongside the licences, the slightly left-of-field 'Music Rally' is also available for those wanting to experience driving to a set pace. The expected time trials and single races are also present.

More Than Just Driving
My First Gran Turismo is a title designed to introduce new and young players to the world of sim racing and the automotive world. Some players will not know the difference between a Japanese car and a European car; therefore, the descriptions and explanations shown for each vehicle are a fantastic addition to aid new players in understanding cars in general.Lamborghini Countach LP400 introduction.
With the learning experience defined in My First Gran Turismo, the collecting aspect of its bigger brother, Gran Turismo 7, is also present. The car collection shows eighteen varying cars, from offroad 4x4s to 90s Japanese sports cars right up to Volvo estate cars.
The variety is good to see, especially since people are learning how to drive in a sim for the first time. One aspect that would have been nice to see would be adding at least one racing car, such as a GT4 or a touring car. But even with that aspect missing, it does not spoil it. The title is free to download, and everyone has to start somewhere.

The possibility of new cars being added is rather slim; after all, My First Gran Turismo is meant to be a stepping stone to the world of Gran Turismo 7. With the cars on offer, outside of a race car of some description, the list fits the goal of the game.
Offline Leaderboard Competition
It is great to see the return of an offline leaderboard reminiscent of older GT titles where you could enter your fastest time with a specific car and track combination. This feature is a great way to get some friendly competition between family members or friends on a single console. The new local play leaderboard layout in My First Gran Turismo.
Overall, it is good to see such a prestigious series as Gran Turismo cater to new fans with a modern title that is free to download, taking away that paywall and allowing anyone and everyone with a PlayStation 5 access to the world of Gran Turismo.
