Open-world drifting game Japanese Drift Master: Rise Of The Scorpion has announced a cooperation with Nissan, bringing licensed vehicles to the game.
An open-world map set in Japan, story-based gameplay and lots of customization - Japanese Drift Master: Rise Of The Scorpion ticks several boxes for many fans of drifting. Released in August, the title features numerous cars you would expect to appear in this setting, but not necessarily as licensed vehicles.
This is changing for an iconic brand now, though. As announced on Twitter, Nissan is now officially on board. "Iconic models of this brand will appear in our game, which we are sure you will like", reads the announcement by developer Gaming Factory. Included in the announcement are shots of the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 - a car that is certainly well-known and will be welcomed by many.
A car list is not part of the announcement, but Gaming Factory does mention that they are working on adding more licensed manufacturers. Mazda and Subaru were already on board at launch, and with Nissan now joining them, a certain brand strongly associated with drifting on Japanese mountain roads would be another fitting addition. Fans of Initial D would probably think so, anyway.
