A joint announcement was made to officialize a renewed and extended partnership between the promoter of the Super Formula race series and Gran Turismo's development studio. The addition of the SF23 to GT7 is now confirmed for the update to come at the end of the month.
Although this outcome was to be expected, as early signs already had us talk about this a couple months ago, the official statement now makes this official and provides us with a more precise time frame for the inclusion of the race cars into GT7: it should come either on the 20th or the 27th, given that updates are always released on thursdays - rare exceptions aside.
The two companies have had pretty close relations since the past few years, but this is the first time an announcement of this scale has been made on that regard. It follows the nomination of Igor Fraga, 3 times Gran Turismo World Champion and top figure from the community, as the Super Formula e-Motorsports Ambassador.
New esport series dedicated to the SF23 will be hosted in Gran turismo - although it is still unclear at this moment if they will once again be exclusive to Japan - and a livery edition contest will be held as well.
