It is that time of the year, the Daytona 24 hours hype is high amongst motorsport fans. So to prepare those for an assault on the 24 hours in iRacing, the 2024 iRacing ROAR Special Event acts as preparation from January 12 to 14.
With the iRacing Special Event of the 24 hours being held next weekend, the iRacing ROAR will be great practice for those intending to do the 24 hours. So in order to prepare, here is all you need to know before tackling the 2 hours and 24 minutes of the 2024 iRacing ROAR.
There are many who are disgruntled at the prospect of not having a base content car as part of the event, even the MX-5 Cup car ran in the 2022 edition. Nevertheless, the LMP3 class has never featured in a Special Event and many who plan to race GTP or LMP2 in next weekend’s 24 hours may benefit from racing the ROAR with the Ligier.
Whilst the single-make class has changed around over the years, the other classes with multiple cars remain. Both the GT4 and Touring Car classes will be represented again in the upcoming 24 hours of Nürburgring Special Event later this year alongside GT3 and Porsche Cup.
If a prototype run in the ROAR does not appeal, there are plenty of choices in GT4 and Touring Car.

iRacing ROAR Classes

The track is notoriously low downforce, so if you can get away with running as slippery a setup as possible, go for it. Keep in mind that when you are on the banking, the slower class runs it low on the corner.
