Simcade racer Hot Lap Racing is close to release. Ahead of its July 16 launch, the full era-defying car lineup of the title has been revealed, including 53 vehicles from seven decades.

Launch day is only two weeks away for Hot Lap Racing. The game, developed by Zero Games Studios and Vision Réelle, invokes the "spirit of old TOCA and GRID games", according to ZGS CEO Pierre -Luc Vettier, is not a simulator, but rather an arcade racing game featuring some sim elements and cockpit camera view even for the Nintendo Switch version.

As we previously highlighted, the game takes a slightly different approach when it comes to its content, allowing players to pit cars from vastly different eras of motorsport against each other - on tracks that are not found in many sims these days, such as the Salzburgring or Jarama.

While not all of the game's 17 circuits have been announced, the developers and publisher Maximum Entertainment have unveiled the full 53-car list of Hot Lap Racing. It includes cars from the 1960s, such as the Brabham BT24, all the way to current-day machines like the Peugeot 9X8 and even fictional cars from the near future, with some rare cars forming part of the roster as well.

Not all of the cars are licensed, but in some instances, it is obvious which iconic vehicle was the inspiration behind a car. 1960s sportscar fans will immediately pick up on what the Fred Motors GT is supposed to be, we would think.

It is certainly a roster that could go toe to toe with many proper sim racing titles out there - not just because of the number of rare gems in the lineup.

Hot Lap Racing is set to release on PC via Steam and Epic, as well as Nintendo Switch on July 16.

Venturi 600 LM!!!!!!!
Although not a several hundred cars list, it is quiet unique and amazing.
Maybe most of these cars are more appealing to older simracers though, but for me, it's a really good selection. Let's wait for the gameplay now.

Hello !
I'm one of the dev.
We knew it was impossible for us to have +100 vehicle in the game (because of budget/time constraints) so we basically took lot of time to select the cars and categories we wanted to put in the game, trying to offer different experiences that we thought could be unusual but interesting to drive for players.
And the Venturi is one of my favorite, it's a really fun one when you disable Traction Control.

Great, this is what the cars list shows, and I personnally like it! And now we know that we can disable traction control! Obviously, a Venturi 400 and a 600LM, that would be a shame with TC... great news!

Oddities but interesting car list. I may jump on this because I'm bored of waiting for Night Runners and AC Evo atm. The premise looks interesting

It'll be interesting to see how this does against the other simcades on the market...

I wonder how fun their tyre model will be as that's a fine balancing act for any racing title... There's plenty of cars that I love in that list... So hopefully it's not saturated and a little more middle of the pack in it's longitudinal grip than the current spread showcases in the entire sim racing niche...

I think some of these car models are off-the-shelf derived, as games like Classic Racers (hillclimb/time trial game on Steam) already features things like the Fred Motors GT40.

But nice to see such a range, especially some BTCC and european touring cars (Sega Touring Car stylee!)
