Fans of motocross rejoice: NACON and KT Racing's latest licenced racing title has just been shown off for the first time, with MXGP 24 The Official Game set for release in late 2024.

After previously being developed by Milestone - the same team behind the licenced MotoGP games - the official motocross licence has leapt over to KT Racing, the previous developers of the WRC titles. With KT Racing retaining the licence until 2028, the official MXGP game series is back for the first time since 2021.

MXGP 24 The Official Game will feature the official bikes from all brands across MX1 and MX2 classes, 50 riders and of course, all 20 tracks from the 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship season. We have our first glimpse of gameplay in the official trailer released today.

KT Racing is promising realistic tracks that will evolve as bikes pass over the same patch of mud or dirt and weather conditions change gradually. In terms of game modes, MXGP 24 will feature single player quick races, time trial and career mode, and of course online multiplayer.

The studio is experiencing difficulty with its latest racing title, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. Along with previously creating the WRC games from WRC 5 to Generations, the French studio also developed prominent motorcycle racing games in the form of the first two Isle of Man TT: Ride on the Edge titles. Time will tell if this experience will result in a good riding experience in MXGP 24 The Official Game.

MXGP 24 The Official Game is slated for release in "late 2024" for Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but an exact release date has not been confirmed yet.

I got a lot of use out of the Milestone games, They weren't great by any means but they served their purpose. There worse fault was stagnation.

I have low expectations for KT's version, But, we shall see.

Looks awful. Same rubbish engine that test drive runs on so will be plagued with performance issues while looking like a mobile game.
