With the full launch day having arrived, it is time to have a look at the initial F1 24 driver ratings - and what the stats that they consist of actually mean.
Driver ratings play a bigger role in F1 24 than in previous titles, and like in the last few years, EA Sports and Codemasters had the real drivers unveil their ratings. The drivers guessing their team mates' ratings before unveiling them makes for a fun YouTube video as well - unfortunately, the official Formula One YouTube channel is not keen on having its videos embedded, so here's a link to it instead.
1. Experience (EXP)
Somewhat self-explanatory, the experience rating shows how many Grand Prix starts a driver has made in their career. F1 24 also takes their race results into account, so a driver who has been scoring strong finishes throughout his career will rank higher than one that has been in the midfield for the same amount of time.
Fernando Alonso has scored the highest result a driver can achieve with a score of 99, while Logan Sargeant is at the bottom of the list at 62.
2. Racecraft (RAC)
The better a driver can race other drivers, the higher their racecraft rating. Gaining positions throughout a race is tied to this rating, so those with a higher value in this category have a higher chance of coming out of a battle with their car ahead of the competition.
3. Awareness (AWA)
Keeping it clean is paramount - a driver who always knows what the cars around him are doing is going to keep their car in one piece more often, choose their gaps for potential overtakes more wisely and know how to position their car to defend better.
Avoiding accidents and penalties is key to increasing this stat.
4. Pace (PAC)
A rather straight-forward category, those drivers who are closest to the fastest times in Qualifying and Race sessions will have a higher pace rating.

F1 24 Driver Ratings Explained
As always, the driver ratings are subject to change and will be updated multiple times throughout the season. Like in more traditional sports games, a driver's overall rating in F1 24 is determined by multiple categories, four in this case. Here is what they mean.1.
