F1 23: v1.09 Patch Out, Introduces F1 World Changes

EA Sports is continuing to fix issues with F1 23: Two weeks after the most recent update, v1.09 has launched. The patch only introduces minor fixes, leaving issues like the Force Feedback problems reported by users of popular hardware still unresolved. Meanwhile, changes to F1 World and EA Racenet are also part of v1.09.

In addition to stability improvements, several bugs have been ironed out with the update, including racers being disqualified from multiplayer races when only being disqualified from the formation lap, the unintended ability to gain control of the car in the pits after using a flashback, and the permanently switched on equal performance mode in LAN races.

Meanwhile, F1 World has received adjustments mostly concerning the Tech Level. Solo events that used to match a player's own Tech Level are now slightly easier as they now match a level slightly below that, but on the other hand, the Tech Level modifier for Solo events has been expanded. Players can now adjust these events to a higher difficulty that grants them higher rewards. The modifier now ranges from 0 to 150, whereas before it was -100 to +100.


To make completing lower-level Solo events more interesting, these will now scale up so they will be only 50 levels below a player's Tech Level at a maximum. They can still use the modifier to make things a bit more challenging and rewarding, though.

Organize Leagues on Your Phone​

Also part of the v1.09 update are improvements to EA Racenet, allowing players to access more detailed telemetry via system's the mobile app. This makes organizing leagues easier, as players can not only search for leagues, but also create and manage them using their smartphone. For instance, it is now possible to hand out warnings and penalties, as well as access results and points standings and more.

  • Fixed an issue where Casper Akkermann, Devon Butler and Jamie Chadwick had incorrect helmets when chosen as a teammate in Grand Prix
  • Fixed an issue where gamertags would sometimes show in unexpected areas
  • Fixed an issue where equal performance was always enabled in LAN modes
  • Fixed an issue where, in some instances, race sessions would not load with UDP telemetry connected

F1 World
  • All F1® World events that previously matched the player's Tech Level have been adjusted to match to a slightly lower Tech Level
  • F1® World Tech Level 'Modifier' setting can now be applied to all Solo events that use Tech Level, allowing optional difficulty increases
  • The F1® World Tech Level 'Modifier' setting has been updated to allow any value from zero to +150 (previously -100 to +100)
  • Lower Tech Level events in F1® World will now scale as player Tech Level increases

Bigger issues that are still being investigated by EA Sports and Codemasters include the FFB issues mentioned in the intro of this article, 100% tire wear in Formula 2 sprint races, and F1 World goals being locked. My fanatec FFB just used to disappear after the first race. Seems they have issues with FFB in general, not just Logitech. The graphics are even blurrier in VR than they used to be in F1 22 and being as you can't use Open Composite in order to make use of the tookit and extra CAS sharpening I gave up and refunded the title.

Pity, I really liked the Las Vegas layout :)

Codemasters F1 game and FFB problems? Well I never.
Have they actually managed to release an F1 sim that didn't have FFB problems?
 
It's time for EA together with Codemasters to stop being mercenaries and launch an F1 aimed at new hardware, this engine is already outdated, except for some evolutions, and the same since 2015 and because it is mercenary it still launches versions for the old consoles generations and with that greatly limits the evolution of the game, in fact, poor people who have invested in the consoles of the new "almost half" generation, and still have to play an "improved" F1 for their console, with that those who have a PC end up paying the duck also, and worst of all here in Brazil, EA wants 359.00 reais for a standard game.
EA creates shame in the face!!!
