A month before the Early Access release of Assetto Corsa EVO, we will have the chance to exclusively interview Kunos Simulazioni founder Marco Massarutto in a live stream - so we need your questions!

The sim racing world is full of buzz for Assetto Corsa EVO. Its Early Access release is still a month away, but the recent announcement of AC EVO featuring an open world set in the Eifel surrounding the Nürburgring has kicked the excitement and discussion into overdrive.

From the announcement, many questions arose already, and we want to look for answers for our community. On Tuesday, December 17 at 16:00 UTC, we will sit down with Marco Massarutto live on our YouTube channel as well as our Twitch channel to find out more about the upcoming sim. For that, we have a number of questions from our comment sections already on our list, but we know there will be more.

This is where you, our community, comes in: Let us know what questions regarding AC EVO are burning on your minds right now as comments to this article, and we will make sure to try and get all the answers we can get from Marco.

In the meantime, you can catch up on what Marco told us last time we had the chance to sit down at SimRacing Expo 2024 via the video embedded above.

Speaking of video: We will have some exclusive Assetto Corsa EVO footage to show you soon that has never been publicly seen before - so we recommend keeping an eye on our website and YouTube as well as social media channels!

Which questions for Marco would you like answered? Let us know in the comments below and tune in to our live stream on December 17 to find out more about AC EVO!

A couple of burning questions I have for Kunos:

- Will there finally be real, native controller support for PC? Of course mods have been able to fix the issues that rose with plugging a controller in and trying to play but it would be much better to have true support from launch. If controller support is planned, will there be the ability to have deeper customisation in terms of button bindings, adjusting turn speeds, etc?
- It sounds as if Kunos is planning to have a closed modding system for Assetto Corsa EVO. Is there anything more that can be said about wherever or not members of modding sites (such as OverTake/Racedepartment!) and forums will still be able to create the cars & tracks that have driven Assetto Corsa to be one of the most popular racing games out there, particularly on launch? Will there be more resources given to those who wish to create mods for the game?

My question: Is there anything that will limit speed when in free roam?

AI drivers - how much are they improved?

Gravel physics ? (for rallying ofc)

How's the CPU multicore support and generally what are the benefits of the new game engine (compared to AC1 eng) ?

One thing that frustrates me about the current AC is that there is no "kerb" data output for Simhub, so I can't set my bass shakers to feel the kerbs. Will AC Evo have kerb data readily available like some of the other sims?

Is the server going to be windows, Linux or both.

If resources are scarse, I would suggest to make it just for linux and make it possible to run it on WSL. In that way it's possible to run it on a cheap (linux) hosting or run it on your own windows machine under WSL.

The reason I detest (and don't organise any ACC races) ACC server is because it doesn't run well under wine. This server binary is the most important thing for self hosting (serious) series.

What shape/dimensions the big map is going to be ? 40x40km ? 80x20km ? Have you considered connecting Spa and Nordschleife ?

Also. How the hell is it even possible to have such maps ? How many modelers worked on it, for how many hours ?

Will the dynamic snow and studded or M+S tyres, blizzard, snowstorm etc? I have been waiting long time that Ilja implement that feature to CSP but maybe AC1 never see that. PC2 has some light version of winter conditions but real life is much more.

Is it possible AI create or make help? And use they photogrammetry?

Will there be a sandbox mode for players who aren't interested in grinding the in-game economy to unlock content?
Asking the real question. Can we skip over in-game economy BS and just enjoy the sim? One of the things that made so many people fall in love with AC was the freedom of any car/any track/any time. Save that story-mode nonsense for arcade racers.

My questions, thanks Overtake!!
1) Could it be possible to take your free roam areas and tag parts/sections into timed sections? These could then be used as a point-to-point rally stages etc. In hilly regions also, the same feature would then turn sections of roads into hill climb point-to-point stages too!!
:)
2) I appreciate you don't plan rally stages, but will famous tarmac rally cars appear in Evo, as they did in AC1?
3) If the community ever wanted it, would you build and offer say a Mercedes Actros tractor unit as a paid dlc vehicle to free roam with? Many of us have a HGV license, and even without a trailer, driving a tractor unit on 1:1 roads with awesome physics would be incredible. No need for a trailer at all.
4) Some community members worry about physics improvements. Can you share any details on your new tires, suspension, steering, and aero improvements and what they will feel like?
5) On Steam, do you plan to offer EVO with dlc pack bundles on 16/1/25? This would allow us to buy-in at whatever level we wish - in order to support you financially day one.
6) Do you plan to expand on the "classic" track quantity, compared to the small amount offered in AC1?
7) Same question for cars, do you plan many more classic race cars such as touring cars and GT cars like the Ferrari 550/575/360, old Jaguar cars, Ford Capri, Triumph, MG, Volvo, TVR etc. Many of us have been around a very long time, and these incredibly famous cars are overlooked.
8) Fog appeared in AC1, will we see it in EVO too?
9) Due to complexity, size, and PC memory, do free-roam and circuit tracks exist separately? So, free roam and their single player missions/tasks are one part of the game. Then if you want to race/lap the Nordschleife itself, that is a separate menu and only loads the traditional track layouts excluding connecting roads?
10) Can you also repeat to those concerned, that grinding is not mandatory to enjoy EVO, there are players thinking this is a forced mandatory way to have to use EVO and are unhappy about it.
11) Will the test-track area you mentioned in your last Overtake interview appear during early access?
12) If you feature timed challenges in SP mode for EVO, can you have someone play-test with a XBox gamepad, so that it's possible for gamers with pads to hit a Gold for example?
13) If there are leaderboard challenges in Evo, will it be possible to have Steam friends laps shown as an option/toggle, so that we can change from view-all, to comparing friends laps? Or will we only see the top 200 times?
14) Gran Turismo built a whole system around oil-changes and washing cars. Personally hate it. Will such metrics like damage (body etc), engine wear and oil changes be a forced scenario in EVO?
15) TAKE MY MONEY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you expect the minimum PC requirements to be to run the game at 60 FPS? I am ok with turning shadows and reflections and stuff like that off. I turn that stuff off on all my racing games anyway.
