Ahead of the Gran Turismo World Finals taking place this weekend in Amsterdam, Polyphony and Hyundai have announced that the IONIQ 5 N car will be coming to Gran Turismo 7 as part of the game's monthly content updates in January.
Do not be fooled by this unassuming-looking electric hatchback. The IONIQ 5 N produces 650 horsepower, can go from 0 to 60mph in just 3.4 seconds and its top speed is 161mph. Hyundai and Polyphony have been involved for quite some time, announcing a fully-fledged partnership between Hyundai's N model range and Gran Turismo in May.
The first of these partnerships appears to be happening now, and players can get their hands on it for free by tuning in to this weekend's GT World Finals. You will also be able to see the car in action during the Nation's Cup qualifying time trial.
The IONIQ 5 N will be gifted to players for free if the Nations Cup stream is opened in-game after it has started on Sunday, 8 December, even just for a moment until it says 'Entry Submitted'. For the other two streams on Saturday, 7 December, players can pick up a 6-star Roulette Ticket for the TGR GT Cup and for the Manufacturers Cup, the Gr.3 car of the brand that wins the championship.
For briefly tuning in to each stream, players can nab themselves some nice additional bits of content. Image: Polyphony Digital
To earn the prizes, open the streams before 3pm UTC (4pm CET) on 9 December. The 6-Star Roulette Ticket and Manufacturers Cup-winning car will arrive in-game the following day, but the IONIQ 5 N will be only added to the player's garage after the update in January. It may not be added early, but it saves the credits that would have been needed to buy it otherwise.
To follow the World Finals this weekend, tune in to the Gran Turismo TV YouTube channel or PlayStation's official Twitch channel. The TGR GT Cup broadcast starts at 4 pm CET, the Manufacturers Cup at 7 pm CET on 7 December, and the Nations Cup stream begins at 4 pm CET on 8 December.
