Max Verstappen's Fourth World Drivers Championship

After a hard-fought season, Max Verstappen left the busy streets of Las Vegas as your 2024 Formula One World Drivers Champion. The Dutchman has not always had the best car this year; however, he walks away with the title with two race weekends remaining.

Throughout his campaign of dominance in 2023, Verstappen was untouchable in nearly every race. However, in 2024, at times, he had the fourth fastest car on the grid. To be able to win the championship with two rounds left to go in a season with 6+ different winners speaks volumes about his consistency. Whether you love or hate him, Verstappen is a modern legend in Formula One.

Looking to the future, Max Verstappen's dad Jos has changed his mind about who should partner with his son next year at Red Bull. Initially, Jos had endorsed the new VCARB recruit, Liam Lawson. However, the ex-Formula One driver has said that with a more neutral car on the horizon for Red Bull, Perez will undoubtedly find his form again.

Valtteri Bottas Re-igniting The Driver Transfer Market

Kick Sauber's Valtteri Bottas said he would 'relish an opportunity to return to a top team in a second driver role'. The Finnish driver left Mercedes at the end of 2021, and a return to the sharp end of the grid driving alongside Max Verstappen at Red Bull would be feasible.

Bottas is without a contract for 2025. He and his Chinese teammate, Guanyu Zhou, lost their seats at Sauber after the team announced that Formula 2 leader Gabriel Bortoleto would join forces with Nico Hulkenberg for the 2025 season.

“Obviously, really honoured that [Toto Wolff] would be willing to take me back to the Mercedes family, which is great. Of course, there are still many details we’ve got to discuss, like how much I would actually get to drive because I want to drive, whether it’s about testing and stuff like that. We’re discussing it, but there’s no need to rush.” - Valtteri Bottas, talking to Formulaone.com

The Race For The Constructors Championship Is Still Red-hot

The 2024 drivers' championship might have been seen out up by Max Verstappen last weekend in Las Vegas, but the Constructors' Championship remains up for grabs. With Red Bull the furthest off the title, the papaya squad are in the driver's seat.

McLaren is currently at the top of the standings with 608 points, just 24 points over stern chasers Ferrari in second place with 584 points. Red Bull, however, are further back in third place. As it stands currently, Red Bull is on 555 points.

Sergio Perez's poor string of form throughout 2024 is partly to blame for the distance they need to claw back to McLaren. Can the Mexican match his four-time world champion teammate to try and claw back another victory for Red Bull in the constructor's championship?

Qatar Grand Prix Schedule

Regardless of where in the world you are, the Qatar Grand Prix will inevitably be a race you will not want to miss. Whilst it is not one of the more iconic and beloved circuits on the calendar, the constructor's title fight between McLaren, Red Bull, and Ferrari is fierce. It will almost inevitably boil over on race day.

Perez is the very example of "sponsor money talks loud". I hope he's gone next year, these past 2 years have been embarrassing especially when you consider what Max has done with the exact same car. They axed Alex and Pierre for less and in quicker time.

Checo replies... "they're OK, but the Aston Martin company car is more enticing, and I like Green"

the goat is the best at iRacing and in the real life, what else ? if he could win the next year, it will be the FIRST to win 5 titles in a row. Fangio, Schumi and Hamilton have failed for the 5 in a row, even if Hamilton has been a monster during 7 years in a row with 6 championships won and a "second place" behind his teamate.

I see you know as much of motorsports as of simracing, specially regarding Schumacher's achievements.

Good start for ferrari and charles, but the mclarens are there and in theory this track should be good for the papaya boys, anyway qualifying real soon.

The weird thing about it is that Fangio won his 4 on the trot, then nobody could string along championships to compare for 4 decades, then, in the last two decades we have 4 drivers that have strung 4 or more championships together.

*I hadn't considered the No 4 to feature as much when I started writing.. I guess that's another weird thing.🤔

Fangio racing during those times as well was crazy. No safety or anything. Your best bet was being thrown from the vehicle in a crash for survival.. That's insanity and balls, BIG BALLS.

But it wasn't really until real safety came into effect we started to see these streaks like we have now. So many chances ruined because death & injury. I honestly can't even begin to think of what that was like to live thru.

I also do not think that Seb, Lewis and Max would be as successful as they had been if it wasn't for the advances in the safety. Both Seb and Max's win streak. The Monza wreck as an example were Max's car went up on Lewis's would had done untold amount of injury to Lewis, even possible death. Romain's crash.. prime example.

So I think we're seeing this happen purely because of the Safety regs now in place. Along with also the better engines (we don't count alpine). Before Pierre's implosion it had been a bit since we had a engine DNF mid race like that of the old days or Pierre's. Was Max's DNF in Aus an engine? I can't remember, I just remember the fire.
