After our attempts to make predictions for the cars releasing with Gran Turismo 7 version 1.54, we now know for sure what they are and what else is being added in the next update.
In our previous coverage of the upcoming GT7 update (which we assumed would be 1.53 but is actually 1.54), we correctly predicted four of the five cars being added: The Ford Escort RS Cosworth, Mercedes-Benz W196R (open wheel version), Porsche 911 Turbo S (992) and Suzuki Jimny Sierra JC are all coming to GT7.
The one we got wrong was the Porsche Mission X, a high performance EV that is the successor to the 918 Spyder. It produces 1,500 horsepower and weighs around 1,500 kilograms resulting in a roughly 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, and it is expected to enter production for 2027.
Along with these new cars, there are a few other interesting additions coming to Gran Turismo 7.
For the wheels and rims enthusiasts amongst us, a new option has opened up in GT Auto, that being Rotiform. There are also new events being added in World Circuits, a Jimny Cup race on Grand Valley - South, Porsche Cup at Laguna Seca and a Race of Turbo Sportscars event on Mount Panorama.
If you are a Ferrari fan, you have probably already gotten these cars so go to GT Café to claim your prize! Image: Polyphony Digital
Finally for those interested in the advanced GT Sophy AI, two more tracks can be ran with them. Trial Mountain Full Course and Tokyo Expressway East Clockwise will have the advanced and emotive opponent drivers. That is all that has been stated in the official announcement but there may be more, like a new Menu Book that was also left out of October's update announcement.
