Community Question: Which Car Would You Like To See Brought To Assetto Corsa?

Assetto Corsa is renowned for being the most versatile racing simulator on the market with thousands of cars and other vehicles available to download as mods. But which car do you want to see modded into Assetto Corsa?

The sheer range of cars available makes choosing one that has not been added to Assetto Corsa yet a real task. However, plenty of racing series and road cars are yet to be added. A series close to my heart is the short oval National Hotrod series, for instance, not to be confused with the Hot Rods of the USA.

These cars are unbelievable works of engineering that produce some of the best racing available. The most common cars in the series range from ND Mazda MX5s, Ginetta G40s, Lotus Exiges, Vauxhall/Opel Tigras and Peugeot 206s. Other vehicles such as Ford Fiestas and Vauxhall Novas and Toyota Starlets have also seen championship success.

Races are conducted on tarmac ovals at a 1/4 mile in length. Despite deliberate contact between cars being banned, accidents are common and often quite spectacular. This is often down to the huge number of cars racing, sometimes thirty-plus, within the tight short oval environment.

The National Hot Rods use tubed chassis from front to back and are layered with kevlar bodies and highly tuned 2-litre straight-4 engines producing upwards of 240 horsepower in a car that weighs just below 700kg.

Having these cars in Assetto Corsa would be a fantastic addition, not just because they are a real handful to control, but because a lot of them are raced on full-scale circuits in the United Kingdom especially. The cars can be fitted with a different differential, and they are ready to go to circuits like Donington Park and Silverstone.

Assetto Corsa would benefit hugely from these incredible cars. The great part about them is the variety in bodyshells, despite the large majority of the mechanical parts being identical to encourage close racing. This means that there could be plenty of variety in a mod pack of these cars without having to individually tune and model each bodyshell.

The National Hot Rods have featured as a mod pack for the original rFactor and were very popular with a stacked series most Friday nights throughout the early 2010s. Bringing the Hot Rods to Assetto Corsa could be a fantastic addition to both the short oval racing world as well as the road courses.

So, which series or car do you want to see modded into Assetto Corsa in the future? Maybe it's your road car or fun weekend car that you would love to tune and set up for the track one day. Or perhaps you want to drive your dream car around one of the many free-roam maps available for Assetto Corsa.

Let us know in the poll above or in the comments down below which car you want to see added into Assetto Corsa!

2007 BTCC would be awesome.

We already know how entertaining touring cars are in Assetto given the popularity of VRC & PM3DM’s super tourers, door banging is great fun.

The post supertourer era of BTCC was great too, but it was really great in 2007 with a wide mix of cars, hatchback and saloon, FWD and RWD. It means it’s a series where people who prefer quite different cars get the opportunity to race them together, despite the very different driving styles, and as touring cars they’re still going to be great doorbangers.

I could write some silly things, and cars I have experience with IRL, but you know what? For all the Ferraris we have officially in the game and for all the quality Ferrari mods we have, I haven't come across a quality F430 yet.

There are many cars that are overlooked simply because the 'heros' of the year/period shine brighter.
Historicaly we have E-types, Cobras, GTO's and perhaps the Griffith, but the Ginetta G10*, is actually a One race One hit wonder, it only had one race (at Brands Hatch in 65) and won it after a long duel with a lightweight E.
While we're here I'd like to see more use of the Ginetta G4R too and perhaps the Ginetta G12.

The Lister Jags and Chevys are overlooked too, the Knobbly and Costin bodied are sadly missing from as far as I see all historic content sims, the Costin bodied Lister coupe too.

More modern one for me would be a Cerbera V8 (that car would have been perfect if it had retained the original oilways in Mellings design)
(not the six in Gran Turismo) and not the 'it's everywhere' Speed Twelve

And perhaps the Allard J2 and J2X

Oh yeah, the Jaguar MkVII and MkIX saloons,

There is a 'G10 Remastered' available for Horizons 5 DLC (Ginetta have revived the car for a few customers)

Some of the cars that were never raced in IndyCar would be cool to have. The Ferrari 637 and Lotus 96T come to mind - both 80s IndyCars that never saw competition but do exist, so they'd be fun what-ifs, I think.

Matra MS670

Nota : the engine rpm is limited on this vid, compared to what it was giving in 1972

If I can have my Audi EVO 2 in the ABT #7 RedBull livery that's really all that matters to me (That's my "main"). But if I had to pick another it'd be my IRL car ( '01 Audi B5 S4) or one of the old mini's.

I was thinking after the other day with the interior stuff, it would be cool if I had my IRL car or a previous IRL car i've owned at least. That would get me interested in the interior stuff or exterior "mods". Make my exact S4 in EVO would be awesome.

This Mini is an absolute blast. And I do mean a blast. If we got old cars like this just to throw around I'll be happy.

I would like to see a high-quality Daewoo Matiz M150 (Chevrolet Matiz) mod in the game someday. But so far I have only met a low-quality version (unexpectedly for drift O_o)

I know AC has the MX5 ND but it’s the soft top and it’s left hand drive… I want it in right hand drive so it’s 100% the same as mine, ND RF in white! Surely there’s a mod of this somewhere? 😂

If I had to name just one that I want so much ever since I started with AC almost one year ago is definetely the Le Mans Peugeot WM P88 that holds the speed record there with 420 km/h. Yep that is one car that would make me smile.A lot. Howaboutcha. ;-)
