WATCH: Sensit! Aims To Simulate That Seat-Of-The-Pants Feeling


One thing sim racing cannot really replicate well is the sensory feedback drivers get from their seat. Sensit! aims to change this - Michel has caught up with them at SimRacing Expo 2024!

Often mentioned, never really simulated - g-forces and that seat-of-the-pants feeling real racing drivers experience in the car are not easy to replicate. Yet, Sensit! is trying to do just that: Their haptic feedback system makes seats come alive to give sim racers more of an idea what their car is doing.

To achieve this, their system uses telemetry data from the sim itself to simulate the experience that racing drivers often describe - namely that you feel that the car is about to step out in you behind first before the steering becomes noticeably lighter, for instance. Its a good step if they can make it comfortable by proper integration into a seat.

That was the main issue with my HF8.

I could live with it, But then it died, and I took it off my seat, and damn, so much comfort I was denying myself.

Tried the HF8 back then as well, same result. Was trying to play around with what seat could maybe fit better but that was also a lot of money needed to have all of them and try them out XD so I gave up haha
 
Thanks for the coverage. I watched the video but still don't understand how the seat provides feedback. Is it using rumble motors (eg. Gametrix Jetseat, SimShaker JetPad)? Bass shakers / transducers (eg. Buttkickers)? Air/gas expanding bags (like F1 teams use to simulate G's on their sims)? Panels/flaps (eg. SimXperience GS-5 seat)?
