Steering Wheel Showdown: Which Wheel Would You Like A Sim Racing Version Of?

Sim racers have plenty of choice when it comes to hardware. There are a number of cool steering wheels out there that are not yet available for sim racing - so we'll have a tournament-style vote to find out which one would be our community's favorite.

We recently put together a list of licensed sim racing steering wheels, of which there are quite a lot available. Anything from entry-level rims to high-end ones that are essentially just yanked straight out of actual race cars and equipped with a USB connection to work on your PC.

Several wheels of Ferrari, BMW or Porsche race cars can be had for your home sim setup, but there are just as many cool racing machines as there are wheels that are not available for sim racing yet out there. So we assembled 16 of them to have ourselves a little tournament over on the OverTake Instagram profile!

To kick off the tournament, we will have a new set of match-ups every day at 17:00 UTC in an Instagram story. There, you can pick your favorite via the voting widget to help the wheel of your choice advance to the next round. Once the round of 16 has concluded, we will move on to a quarterfinal, then semifinal and, naturally, the final match-up to determine the winner.

The Candidates

  • Ferrari 499P
  • Hyundai Elantra N TCR
  • Glickenhaus SCG 007 LMH
  • Ferrari 296 GT3

I'd love to have a small round standalone wheel for old f1. Just a few button for menu navigation. Something like early 90s f1 wheel.
Thats not too complicate or even expensive to put together though.. you can get momo, personal brand replicas, add the quick release needed. The buttons - single or dual etc are a bit more work but very doable

A GT3 wheel with 10 buttons, 2 thumb wheels, 2 funky switches, 3 rotary knobs. fits Fanatec DD2 without a cable or spacer, doesn't light up, doesn't have a LCD, doesn't have any car manufaturer's name on it and is 320mm. I have a 6.8 inch DDU. I don't look at the steering wheel.

Please get right on that Corsair.

Now that Thrustmaster finally has come into the DD era, they only need to upscale their 80% diameter Ferrari 250 GTO to a full 1:1 size fit and I'm an instant buyer.

OK, so if the job is a pick from the list I'll take the VT23r Subaru WRX ARA24 racing wheel.

So simple, yet beautiful design and right amount of buttons for modern cars to my taste.

Is there anyone truly using all these buttons or these wheels are just to impress guests at home? And I'm not asking about Verstappen, nobody is like him.
I have forgotten most of what my buttons are assigned for...
Beyond BB, diff & rollbar(so few cars), what else do you use?
