Fanatec Launches Bentley GT3 Wheel, Shows Handbrake & More New Gear

Three years after first unveiling it, Fanatec have launched the the Podium Steering Wheel Bentley GT3. More new gear is on the way, too.

The Fanatec sim racing hardware brand has endured a difficult couple of months, but things have recently calmed down. Corsair acquired Fanatec and parent company Endor, completing the acquisition on 23 September.

Now, the focus shifts to new sim racing equipment instead of business matters again. Fanatec launched a long-overdue product while also showcasing new gear that should be in the hands of sim racers soon -
here is the round-up of all the items.

New Fanatec Hardware

First up, remember that Corsair sim rig that debuted at Gamescom? Well, rather understandably, it has been rebranded to bear the Fanatec name, as the brand will continue to be used for sim racing equipment. Meanwhile, the Fanatec CSL Cockpit will soon get accessories - at SRE, a PC shelf, keyboard holder, monitor stand and seat sliders were shown.

Furthermore, the promise of the Podium Steering Wheel Bentley GT3 is now being fulfilled: The wheel featuring a circular center display has officially launched for sim racers to order. But of course, the wheel itself will be quite expensive - €1,999.99 to be exact. However, that is not all in terms of new officially-licenced manufacturer branded wheels, as you can also get one from Porsche.

The new Porsche Fanatec rim has been lifted straight from the Vision Gran Turismo concept car.

As had already emerged in early Summer, this is the Porsche Vision GT, which will be released in the CSL line rather than the Podium one. What may be most interesting with the Porsche rim is that it features hall sensors for the shifter paddles, which means that the system has magnets that are detected when there is movement without actually making any connections that typically result in wear and tear over time. The Porsche rim is expected to be available for purchase in early 2025.

Then there is the previously-announced GT3 Endurance rim shown off during the Spa 24 Hours and sold as a limited edition there (and we got one!), plus a Red Bull Racing-branded Special Edition formula rim.

Furthermore, Fanatec steps up its handbrake game. The new ClubSport Handbrake V2 features a load cell and is expected to be available in early November. Our team on the ground reports that it feels a lot more solid and a dramatic step up from the V1 counterpart.

This new handbrake from Fanatec uses the same load-cell system as the brand's brake pedals.

Small but important mistake: the PVGT wheel wont be a ClubSport product but a CSL Elite product!

That thing just looks comical. Do you grip those knobs with the entirety of your hand?

The green looking carbon fiber looks like a cheap cutout and the forged carbon makes it just look dirty. Maybe it looks more polished in person (im sure it does) but that doesnt make up for the goofiness of it.

To put this much effort into something that is only for the most enthused of enthusiasts just doesnt make sense to me. Maybe there are some behind the scenes things happening where it made sense to just release it but it still looks goofy. Did I mention that I dont like how it looks?

Not a small point actually. My ClubSport wheels are way better quality than the CSL WRC wheel I have. The paddle switches on the CSL wheel are absolute garbage and the wheel feels like a toy. I would have returned it but not worth the shipping costs.

The problem has never been the products themselves but the buying process, availability, shipping, and after-sales if you unfortunately need help or repair. Plus the software/driver side has been really slow. I was hoping they would focus on that, rather than rushing out new products to make quick money...

This costs 2000€ & will be gobbled up like fresh buns yet people were complaining that Moza's offer was too expensive 🙄

Hey thanks for this, we had some mixup with our team onsite. Corrected the information in the article now.

I want a Podium or Clubsport class GT3 wheel that costs €500-€1000 and weighs in region of ~1kg the lighter the better. I have seen a lot of nice wheels from other manufacturers in that category that I would have bought if i was not locked into this Fanatec ecosystem.

Now that is one ugly wheel, but I guess, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!
Not to mention, overpriced!

I like tham all, but i guess all of them are made for money grabbing

Meanwhile i don't see the reason of using a LC for a handbrake... In modern rally cars handbrakes works like an on/off switch

It would have been nice to see the Red Bull Formula rim, as well as anything mentioned in the article.

The brake looks great. I may have to take them up on it. Rally racing is better with a hand brake... Bracing for the price tag, seeing that two of the more recommended hand brakes start at $220, this will most likely fall right in line.

No one seemed to talk to Fanatec about the Porsche GT Vision wheel. All I know is the name, magnetic hall effect paddles and it's in the CSL line of wheels. Nothing on weight, how the buttons, encoders and paddles feel, why use synthetic suede and not Alcantara, and what the pricing structure will be... Will this be priced with the QR2 lite included?

I personally don´t like the new "Wheel" design in modern cars. They should better call them steering rectangle from now on.

On the various AC Evo videos they show the next CS GT3 wheel, as was released in limited edition at the Spa 24h event but this time in an ADAC edition. Looks very nice and if it follows the pricing of the Podium wheels that use a similar assembly they should be around 500-600 Euros.
