Simucube Announce New Budget Orientated ActivePedal Pro

The new Simucube ActivePedal Pro
High-end sim racing hardware manufacturer Simucube has been releasing plenty of teasers for a new piece of hardware. A new more budget-friendly take on their famous ActivePedal known now as the ActivePedal Pro.

Simucube as a brand is known for high-end equipment whose prices make most of our eyes water. However, their importance to the industry can not be understated and new hardware is always exciting from innovators from teams like Simucube. The unveiling of this new ActivePedal shows the company's dedication to their innovation and technology as well as its existing product lines.

The new Active Pedal Pro is a take on Simucube's famous pedal set at a lower price, allowing a new audience to access their hardware. Do not expect the price tag to be considered 'Budget', however.

The pedal has an endless amount of configurations that, like its bigger brothers, have multiple presets available in the Simucube software for GT cars, formula cars and rally cars. These presets help sim racers get an immediate feeling of competence from their new equipment and give them a solid base to start fine-tuning their braking setups.

The main differences between the ActivePedal Pro and the older ActivePedal lineups are the travel on the pedal itself as well as the physical number of moving and electrical components. The pedal simply is a stripped-down, more basic version of their current ActivePedal lineup. The pedal will be on sale 10th October 2024 for €1,402.

Simucube is dedicated to its product line with innovation on its current products, which is good to see. However, some in the community are disappointed by the lack of a significant price drop. The pedal will still be considered a high-end option for the large majority of sim racers.

With the ActivePedal family growing, the original ActivePedal is now known as the ActivePedal Ultimate and has had its capacity increased through a software update to allow for 170kg of force.

Let us know down below what you think about the new Simucube ActivePedal Pro and the adjustments to the ActivePedal Range!

How much is this damn thing supposed to cost?
Did I read that correctly?
1402 euros?
Did they eat a clown for breakfast?
For that I get VR glasses, a rig and a complete steering wheel set. Maybe even the vibration mat from NLR.
The madness knows no bounds because there will be people who will buy this piece of hazardous waste again.
Sorry, but some people don't even get that as a full-time salary for a 40-hour week here in Germany.
But everyone should do what they want with their money.

Agree wholeheartedly, I think I'm most annoyed that the article reads 'budget' and it costs that absolutely absurd amount of money, although don't know if the word 'budget' also extends to the seller's marketing. Like an attempt to gaslight us into thinking this is the new normal.

"THE" pedal for €1,402?

Making AseTek pricetags look like bargains.

However, I'm interested in SimuCube software, regarding backward compatibility.
For a price quite higher than my total rig, one should expect software compatibility as way back as my previous Logitech G27 and my present T300RS-GT+T-LCM+2×T8HA, i.e. FFB working from the gun with F1C99-02 and upwards and just tiny mingling back to Grand Prix 2 FFB response linearity.

Since I've read this quite simple demand from here apparently can be an issue with providers of more expensive DD solutions, I'll stay very reluctant, though.

Since I'll never stop racing legacy sims.

I bought Grand Prix 2 on the day it was released and played it until I was sick with my Logitech joystick.
Then came the graphic modding. When the Good Year lettering appeared on the tires, I was blown away.

Acquired Grand Prix 2 on local release date, too.
However, keyboard driving (the mappings gas/brake = A/Z, left/right = ./, gear up/down = alt gr/alt, handbrake = space I've used ever since for keyboard driving and believe it or not, even there quite more immrrsion than using arroe mappings), just until 5 years ago speaking GP2, then going into the sim with proper modern FFB wheel/LC brake possibilities and surely "IT'S ALIVE!!" experience to the bones.

I don't know whether a hardware ten times the price would be that much more of an exhillerating exprience with GP2...if the wheel software will allow at all in first place...

we are not all poors, there are so much rich people, Simucube is the best, if you dont have the money, you have moza ;)
You must know. Even if it's none of your business, Mr. I define myself through money and material possessions.
I am one of the richest people in the entire known universe.
My family is doing well, they are healthy and - most importantly of all - they love me and are 100% behind every decision I make. No amount of money or any material rubbish can make up for that.
So first grow up and say goodbye to the supposed wealth that comes from money or material things.
These things are absolutely no help to you when it comes down to it. Only a family that loves you can do that.

For those bitching about the price:-

It's Simucube - like WTF did you expect from what is currently the most expensive general sim racing hardware purveyor in existence?

Trust me, you do not need these pedals. If you've already got a half decent and reliable set of loadcell pedals then you're good to go. If you haven't then there are a number available at reasonable cost.

The only real advantage these pedals offer is fast settings changes, and as I'm guessing most people just set the pedals up once and then use it for all sims this fast setting is really not needed. Everything else, such as haptic feedback, can be done with mods on your existing pedals relatively cheaply assuming you know which way to turn a screwdriver or allen/hex key.

These pedals are simply for people that want the icing on the cake. In every hobby there is always the high end expensive gear that only a few can afford, and even fewer buy - that's simply how it is.

Oh, and if you think I'm going back on my previous post here I'm not, I just took exception to the Overtake editorial team referring to these as "budget" pedals when they are clearly definitely not.

I don't want to say “growing up,” but part of “growing into” the modern world is realizing and accepting there are luxury items for almost anything. Want to spend multiple hundreds of dollars on a set of bed sheets? You can. Want to spend a thousand plus dollars on a pair of boots? You can. Want to buy a Leica instead of a Canon or Nikon? You can.

In some sort of way, we should be thankful that simracing has enough of a market that there's a place at the high end for products like this new pedal. Even if relatively few people from the simracing populace can afford to partake of it.

What a blunder. If I were their CEO I would order to set the price at 14020 euros, that way they still are going to sell almost none but their brand is going to seem even more exclusive to the kind of people that still are going to pay 14020 euros because they are the same niche of people that are also going to buy the new rtx5090 even if it costs 2500 euros.

I'm not bothered about the super expensive gear or those who are into it, but.. the article?

"Do not expect the price tag to be considered 'Budget', however."
🧐
I mean ... that doesn't even make sense.

Perhaps it was meant to be Simucube Announce New "Budget Orientated" ActivePedal Pro?🤔

This is budget oriented in the same way that a compass sitting on the Ross Ice Shelf is North Pole oriented.

You, dear Sir or Madam, are obviously a highly intelligent and discerning individual, and today just happens to be your lucky day!

Available exclusively to people such as yourself who don't need to ask the price, I can offer the SimuPube ActivePoodle!

There are those, the less cultivated and enlightened rabble, who claim this is just a paper bag full of dog **** that I get you to step on - but you're obviously far too discriminating and judicious to take any notice of such impoverished plebs and peasants.

Limited time offer and very limited, exclusive stock - only £10,234.99.*

DM me for details :)

*Shipping not included.

Be humble is free, but if you don't want it because cost no money, try to see if you can buy some manners because come here to brat about being rich is at least rude, I would say even disrespectful to the people who struggle to pay bills every month.
