Rennsport Now Available On Steam

After previously being in closed beta and exclusively on the Epic Launcher, Rennsport is now available on the Steam store in its open beta form.

With the unconventional approach to the release of Rennsport, for the longest time the sim was a no-go for many due to it only being on the Epic Games Store. But those who have been waiting for its release on Steam to try it out can now do so - Rennsport is lining up next to all your other Steam games.

Competition Company have formally announced on the Rennsport socials that the title is now available on Steam. Launching as a playtest, all you need to do is download and request access to the open beta, and everything already available on the Epic Launcher version of the title will be there.

Is Epic to Steam migration possible?

Yes! If the only reason you had the Epic Launcher downloaded was for Rennsport and you fancy having all your sims on one platform, you can carry your progress over to Steam. Since you need an account to access the title, all you need to do is download Rennsport on Steam and put in your login details.

This includes purchased content like one of the Founders Packs, which, at certain tiers, can give one access to the Nürburgring-Nordschleife and the Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport car. Any and all content acquired from the Founders Pack will automatically carry over.

As for those who plan to remain with the Epic Launcher, all the online races will cross over so you can race with those playing the version on the other launcher. Meaning crossplay between Epic and Steam is possible.

Regarding content, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit was announced as being introduced into Rennsport, and was seen in action during the ESL R1 Major last month. It has not been added to the platform yet, and there is no indication that it will arrive with the Steam launch.

Downloading from Steam, I used the Epic launcher so far, but I have no use for it, if not for Rennsport.
Not using Rennsport much, just checking every once in a while to see if anything changed. many time the epic launcher downloaded substantial size update in terms of MB, but I cannot say that I had noticed any changes in the game.
How does one select different State of Charge mode for the hypercar in Rennsport?

Is there something better in this sim than in other racing sims, or is there some other reason why I should buy this?

I hope they can get this effort off of the ground. I can't wait to have one more game where everyone only goes to Spa, Nurburgring, Bathurst, Silverstone, drives only Porsche or Mercedes, complains about AI, complains about VR, complains about tire model, complains about graphics, compares it to every other game, says it is too expensive, uninstalls it a gazillion times, wants more tracks and more cars.

Ok, I am done.

I've had this since the very first beta key drop, and honestly I've not put that much time into it. However the time that I have put into it has shown me that while it's competent, it doesn't really do anything special. There's nothing egregiously wrong with it, but equally there's nothing outstandingly right with it - it's characterless for the want of a better word.

With the recent introduction of "Dynamic Liveries" I also felt that it had "jumped the shark", at least with regards to what I considered the core audience to be - implementing something I would expect to see in GTA or NFS into what appears to be marketed as a hardcore sim racing title seems to be at odds with what most potential players would expect.

Here's the kicker though. Now that I know it's going to be a "free to play" game I'm incredibly weary of how this game is going to be monitised. If it's going to be along the lines of RaceRoom then, yeah, OK, but they're going to need a lot of content to make that worthwhile for both the players and the publisher. However if it's going the full "free to play" model with pay to win mechanics then I don't imagine that it will get many takers from this particular demographic.

On the whole I think this title is DOA, which is a shame because at the beginning it did seem to offer something special. However, even this forum's current favourite, punching bag (erroneously I might add), Le Mans Ultimate, has way more content, plus far better developed physics and gameplay than Rennsport, at least at the moment.

Just given this a go...

It drives nice & fair play to the devs that spent their precious time on planet earth coding and designing it.

I am sure there must be some reason why this title exists, what that reason is i am not sure.

I just thought i might as well just load up ACC, i love ACC, i dont know why i would even entertain Rennsport, i must be missing something.

Anyone here with good ffb settings for moza bases? Really good looking sim but it's ffb doesn't let me to enjoy it, am I the only one?

Oh, somehow I've completely missed that info. In that case I might test it to see if there's anything special, it just seems to me there isn't.
Haha all good. Have fun with it.

Word of advice, the force feedback needs to be manually inverted. Don't ask me why that's standard, boggles my mind too.

Indeed all these people complaining all the time.... ;)

Why? My god it is just a game, this community is just insane
Why? because without it I can't add support for it to Race Element like I did with iRacing, Assetto Corsa and RaceRoom.

Additionally if the developer wants hardware manufacturers to include support for their simulator it will be hard without an official 3rd party api. Think motion rigs, dashboards, pretty much common matter for simracing.

Well, it's not S397, so it must be a insta' buy ! 🤡

Ironic though, they can get away with beta DLC with barely a murmur but S397 gets savaged.
Typical.
