While not one of the biggest events for sim racing, gamescom 2024 did have a good amount of news in store for our favorite hobby. We want to know: Did you follow the event?
It is one of the biggest events in gaming in the world - year after year, gamescom draws the attention of the entire industry, and 2024 was no different. This includes triple-A titles, indie games, and anything in between - meaning sim racing too, of course.
It is certainly not the main attraction in Cologne, and pure sim racing events like Sim Formula Europe in Maastricht or the ADAC SimRacing Expo are usually what sim racers are looking forward to more. But in recent years, the discipline has seen its representation grow, and most sim racing-related booths were concentrated in hall 10.1 at gamescom 2024, giving it a bit of a mini sim racing event flair.
Gamescom had a few very interesting unveilings for sim racers in store, the biggest arguably being MOZA Racing's CRP2 pedal set mBooster and active pedal upgrade.
That is far from all, however. As our gamescom 2024 sim racing news rundown shows, the list was a good bit longer, and most of it consisted of hardware-related news - the big insights into upcoming titles like Assetto Corsa EVO or Project Motor Racing were not to be found in Cologne, unfortunately, so more patience will be needed.
Still, MOZA's reveal, the first showing of the Revosim hardware or the Corsair sim racing rig happened at gamescom, so sim racing companies do see value in the event - how about the sim racers themselves, though?
