Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is hosting a Console Beta ahead of its September release. However, only those who pre-ordered the game will have access.
With its release only about a month away, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is offering players another chance to try a Beta version, this time on consoles. However, if you are still on the fence about buying the game, it might not be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
Instead, the Console Beta for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 is only open to those who already put in their pre-order for the game. TDU SC is set to release on September 12 for PC as well as the aforementioned consoles.
Following the PC demo in June, community feedback was not very favorable in some cases, with the performance often being cited as an issue. To combat this on consoles, which usually are not on the same hardware level as PCs, two performance modes will be available in the Console Beta. "Quality" mode will run at 1440p and 30 fps, while "performance" mode will give players 60 fps, but only at 1080p. 4k resolutions are not mentioned.
The Console Beta unlocks in two steps. Those who pre-ordered the Gold Edition of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown can hit the streets of Hong Kong Island exclusively from August 13 to 18 at 08:00 UTC on each day, and they can then enter the Closed Beta with the other pre-orderers from August 27 to 30 (08:00 UTC each day).
