Ahead of its release on 12 September, the limited Collector's Edition of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has been revealed. Included are all kinds of physical items that perhaps the big TDU enthusiasts will be wanting to get their hands on - with quite the price tag.
Who thought the days of game publishers creating big gift boxes featuring exclusive items in the build-up to the release of a game were over? The likes of the Codemasters F1 titles, Project CARS and Gran Turismo series of games used to do just that, giving the option for the biggest enthusiasts to get their hands on some novelty gifts like for example, an item of clothing, some stickers, or even a model car.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will have a physical item box as part of its Collector's Edition, limited only to 2,000 units. It will cost consumers the equivalent of up to $250. So what do you get for that (rather steep) price? Here is everything available in the TDU Solar Crown Collector Edition box.
Additionally, a few items that - like the cap - are garnished in Solar Crown logos like a pair of cufflinks, a membership card, a leather keyring and even a ceramic casino chip that will reflect the ones in-game when one goes to play in the casino are included. That is the sum total you get for just under $200, but you can package the collector box with a version of the game.
If you are planning on splashing out on the Collector Edition anyway, you can combine it with a physical copy of the Gold Edition of the game which will apparently save players up to $30 compared to buying them separately. Along with an additional metal case, players can unlock the following bonus in-game cars:
The F-Type and Range Rover will appear in a player's garage after reaching progression level 12, whilst the rest will do so once they hit progression level 20. Additionally there will be other in-game bonuses for picking up the Gold Edition, including the VIP Solar Pass which provides access to premium seasonal rewards with 20 levels already unlocked.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is set to release on September 12 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It was also originally announced for Nintendo Switch, although no release date for this version is known.
