Leading up to a November 9th release on Xbox and PC, promotion of Forza Horizon 5 has stepped up and shown off some of the cars and even a preview of the gameplay from the racing title.
Turn 10 Studios has been hard at work promoting Forza Horizon 5. Recently the developer has been showcasing partial car lists, cover art and even gameplay of the forthcoming title.
The recent gameplay trailer showed the opening seven minutes of FH5 and featured the much-anticipated Mercedes-AMG Project ONE. The Project ONE has also been announced as one of two cover models, along with the new Ford Bronco Badlands.
For those holding their breath for more sim elements in the next installment of Forza Horizon, you can safely exhale. The gameplay trailer shows a Bronco being air dropped next to an active volcano and racing over off-road terrain, before the scene cuts to another desert race with a Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray which was also dropped from an aircraft. Next up, a custom Porsche races through the jungle after, you guessed it, being parachute dropped from an airplane. The last air drop is the most dramatic, featuring the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE backing out of a low flying aircraft onto a highway and into a race already in progress.
You might be tempted to write this off as an over-the-top automotive industry advertisement, but the elements that have made the Forza series among the most successful racing game franchises in history appear to be present here again. Like past installments, Horizon 5 is very fast, very bright, and very loud.
The setting this time around is Mexico, in what Turn 10 proudly calls their largest Horizon map ever. The car list should also be huge, with over 20 confirmed Mercedes vehicles alone at release. Among the diverse Mercedes entries, there is a 1929 Mercedes-Benz SSK, 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT-R, a racing truck, and even a Unimog U5023.
The visuals in the title are extremely impressive, which is something fans of the Horizon series have come to expect. Bright colours fill the screen at every point (unless you happen to be caught in a sandstorm), and innumerable trackside objects add to the graphical feast.
Players will be able to get their hands on Forza Horizon 5 on November 9th on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC on Windows and Steam, and Xbox Game Pass including console, PC and Cloud Gaming.
