The 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans may be in the books, but Studio 397 continues to be hard at work with Le Mans Ultimate. The team teased one of the new-for-2024 Hypercars, namely the Alpine A424.
2024 content is not plentiful in Le Mans Ultimate just yet: Ahead of the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans, the BMW M Hybrid V8 was released for free, as were the 2024 liveries for the Hypercars that were already in the game. More 2024 content is expected soon, most likely as paid DLC - "it's the only way that we can really balance the books", as Motorsport Games CEO Stephen Hood recently told OverTake.
While the team had scanned Imola in parallel to the real event in mid-April already, no cars were mentioned until the BMW was officially announced ahead of Le Mans. The 2024 season content is expected to be in LMU before the end of the year.

In the real 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, the A424 did not exactly turn out to be a world beater. As the French prototype uses a derivative of the engine used in Formula 2, it may have a very characteristic and popular engine note, but it fell silent on both cars early on. The #35 of Paul-Loup Chatin, Ferdinand Habsburg and Charles Milesi retired after 75 laps, the #36 of Nicolas Lapierre, Mick Schumacher and Mathieu Vaxivière followed after 88 laps. Alpine's Le Mans adventure was over after about six hours.
Players will certainly be hoping for a touch more longevity when they get to drive the car in its striking blue livery. Thus far, Alpine only managed two points finishes in the 2024 WEC season, a seventh place in Qatar and a ninth place in Spa-Francorchamps, both with the #35 car.

Alpine Hypercar In LMU Soon?
The Alpine A424 LMDh Hypercar could be part of one of the next releases then - at least the 3D model shared on the LMU Twitter accound looks fairly advanced. The car was posted on the day of the 69th founding anniversary of Alpine as a manufacturer - not your usual anniversary to celebrate, but still a nice nod.In the real 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, the A424 did not exactly turn out to be a world beater.
