With a plethora of content, the choice in RaceRoom can be overwhelming. To help you find cars and tracks you like, the sim will be free to access from June 20 to 23, 2024.

Hundreds of cars, more than fifty locations, some with up to six different layouts - deciding on new RaceRoom content to grab (in case you do not have all of it already anyway) can be a daunting task. Will Bilster Berg be worth the price of admission? Could the FR 90 - an interpretation of a 1990 Formula One car - be up your alley?

From June 20 to 23, you can simply find out: RaceRoom will be free to access in its entirety during this period. That includes all content the sim has to offer - everything will be at your disposal to try out thoroughly. This could come in especially handy for some of the tracks that are rare or not at all in other sims, such as Nogaro, the Salzburgring or the Circuit de Pau-Ville.

For the 2023 edition of the Free Access Period, we had assembled a list of five tracks to try while it was active, and we feel like these are still good choices in 2024 if you have not tried them. Check out the list here!

Just like in 2023, the Free Access Period is followed by the RaceRoom Summer Sale, offering discounts of up to 50%. Should you have found something to add to your collection during the Free Access Period, this would be the ideal time to pull the trigger.

The Summer Sale starts on June 24 and lasts until July 7.

The most recent content to have been added to the sim was the BMW Pack, containing the M2 CS Racing, the M4 GT4 (G82), and the M8 GTE. In early 2024, the Ferrari 296 GT3 and the aformentioned Circuit de Pau-Ville joined the roster.

The almost complete (missing one car) Premium Pack is 10,000 vRP, and the last time I checked 10,000 vRP was about £65 - which is cheaper than the £85 cash price of the content, but still put me off. (I'm a cheapskate).

I've just checked today and the UK store has 10,000 vRP for £52, which is a very good exchange rate compared to 70 euros in their other store.

If vRP get a discount in the sale then I might finally add some cars and tracks to my R3E installation, though if I remember last year it was only the cash prices that got discounted, with the bundles getting the smallest discounts, making vRP still the cheapest way to get the game.

Hhmmm, £52 does seem reasonable ... Do I wait for the sale and see if vRP get an unlikely discount, or pull the trigger as exchange rates might go up?

Does anyone know if the AI is back to the old level? I had read that it was a bit broken

AI is great especially adaptive :D Just got whole damn thing! Love this game really. Driving experience is great graphics are fine (ReShade helps) and all those cars missing elsewhere are here and it is endless amount of scenarios to play. MP on the other hand is shiat and people in charge of it are idiots ;) As an example you can and you are allowed to crush in to others almost totaling your car then pit to repair and then do this for 3 laps on Nords without being DQ or at least have your car not running LOL.... AND as a bonus for managing to do all of that damage you get a fat amount of bonus points and rank points cause you know you were not last LOL it is a joke really whole MP side of this game! BUT offline is the most fun I had out of any other sim (yes even AC with trillion mods!)

Give us a Premium Plus package for those of us that bought premium many moons ago (5 years ago in my case!) and have supported the game for some time, to "Catch up" with any missing content. I've bought many DLC's since but have just added everything I don't have into the basket and it's still like 9000 VRP. Sure, the sale will help with this, but a "top-up" bundle would definitely generate more sales for people like me who bought premium bundle some time ago

I’ve been waiting for this. Especially the sale which is only once or twice per year. Hopefully this will bring online participation up as it is the only problem with Raceroom for me. Oh and VR for some reason is not working correctly for me (looks literally like 100p on my Aero)

I've been playing RRRE for nearly a decade now and I don't think the vRP prices in the RaceRoom Store have ever changed

I'd personally still wait because there isn't much point buying it effectively 3 days before a sale thanks to the free access period, especially because I think (though I'm not 100% sure) that the Premium Pack dropped to 7500vRP in last year's summer sale which would bring it down to £40 using the RaceRoom Store

Edit: I just checked and the prices in the RaceRoom Store right now are the same as they have been every time I've bought vRP dating back to the first time I used it in 2016. I can only ever justify buying it when there's a sale so I'm pretty confident in saying that the vRP prices don't change, it's just that everything costs less vRP

I would be more inclined to purchase content on sale if I had the impression that these new revenues would help the studio to transform R3E into a modern-day sim. But the only thing that it does is add new content.
I'm on the same page, and own almost all content. Sadly, I can't stand driving the 11 year old engine in dry fine weather. It's just over a year since the dev talked to Traxion, about building new/modern working code, and needing a new gfx engine. Then radio silence.

I'd welcome dev updates about progress, it would be nice to have modern CPU's and GPU's fully supported with new code. Thankfully AC-Evo isn't far off now for, which I'm way more excited for. RRE is deffo the last free to play title I ever support.

Hope they fix it for you, though I'm unsure it will ever increase online stuff sadly. Tbh, the game to me has always looked like a 720P version of GTR from SimBin. The graphics look similarly as basic, but with improved textures. Hopefully the dev will publish updates on the new code progress, and gfx engine work asap to put us out of our misery.

Tbh the graphics are not that bad for me. There’s little bells and whistles, but it looks natural and good enough for a sim. Car’s exterior looks fine , but dashboards are pretty low res indeed. But I appreciate its tire physics and handling in general seems realistic and consistent.

It os a sim that has many qualities, especially the physics. Fine tuning the pedals is a major pain in the neck, in my opinion, but overall the driving experience is very good. But the overall game feels dated and has changed very little in several years.

The only reason I still play it from time to time is the amazing content. It features cars and tracks that can’t be found anywhere else.

I wonder how many people actually tested the reworked Portimao Track. It looks really good & I can imagine if they add a day/night cycle & some weather to that, we all would be very happy with the game.
Of course, updating the dashes would greatly apply to a even more realistic feel, for example the Dashes in the modern GT3 cars like in the Ferrari 296 are not very appealing. Not only because they don‘t look like in the real cars, but also because of the low resolution.

If this sim had weather, night/day cycle and driver swaps, it would be absolutely perfect. Three very good reason to move from the old engine. The problem is not just graphics, it's that it is a very barebone experience. A bit like AC1.
