The state of the F1 24 handling at launch was a problem for many players. EA Sports and Codemasters have acknowledged this - and deliver an F1 24 handling update on June 7 already.
When F1 24 had the spotlight on it for the first time in a preview version, many content creators and players were unhappy about the game's handling. Excessive turn-in, especially in high-speed corners, meant that an entirely unrealistic driving style was the key to being competitive. EA Sports and Codemasters acknowledged this shortly after the game's full launch on May 31 and promised an update.
Said update must have been worked on with great urgency, as v1.3 is set to release on June 7 at 10:00 UTC already. The patch lists numerous improvements related to handling alone, including adjusted slip curves, revised suspension kinematics, and performance adjustments to multiple teams to reflect their form up until the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix.
All online leaderboards for the 2024 season F1 cars will be wiped with the deployment of the new handling update.
With the changelog, a statement by Senior Creative Director Lee Mather was released as well:
"We've made significant updates to our physics tech this year to set us up for long-term advancements in handling. As with any new system, we will continue to refine it by listening to our community, with further refinements throughout live service and beyond.’
“The changes set out to calm down the front end of the car giving a more realistic level of grip and turn-in capabilities. We've also made adjustments that will aid in the controllability of the car on throttle. These changes will be more prevalent for players using a wheel and without assists.”

Other Improvements
In addition to the most pressing issues regarding the handling, several other areas of the game will be improved with the F1 24 v1.3 update. Most notably, the ERS battery will no longer drain after the lap usage limit has been reached, a Two Player Career Mode bug that caused the game to freeze during contract negotiations has been fixed, and support for Asetek Invicta wheel bases has been added. Are you looking forward to the F1 24 handling update, or does it come too late for you?
