The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy holds its 103rd running this weekend - and its infamous 60-kilometer Mountain Course for Assetto Corsa has received a timely update ahead of the event.
It is known as one of the most dangerous races in the world: The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy sees motorbikes fly around public roads on the namesake island at ludicrous speeds, with riders' heads often missing lamp posts, walls and other obstacles by mere centimeters. In total, 266 competitors have died at the course since 1911 - danger lurks at every corner.
Bike racing fans have the dedicated TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge series of games to tackle the 60-kilometer road course that leads them across most of the Isle of Man. However, it is also possible to run the Mountain Circuit on four wheels - thanks to Assetto Corsa mods.
Created by mod author Frank1463, this hard-to-tame beast of a track has been available in AC for almost seven years as of May 2024. However, with a major graphical overhaul now completed by OverTake user ImWilde, you can now race at the legendary road course with all of the graphical pleasures that modern modded Assetto Corsa has to offer.
Radical SR3 XXR's screaming around the IOM TT Circuit.
The notable changes to the already fantastic IOM TT circuit's scenery include an overhaul of textures and the addition of rainfx, treefx and grassfx. These updates might sound small, but when they come together, they transform the surroundings of the track.
The best example to give is the quality of the overhanging trees. The leaf textures make it hard to see where you are going, further adding to the dangerous nature of racing on the closed public roads of the IOM. Extra buildings, objects and road signs have also been placed although they are not always true to life.
New buildings and road signs are part of the update.
Further updates are planned for the graphical roadmap of this awe-inspiring circuit. Assetto Corsa is full of cars to choose from, like the Radical SR3 and classic F1 and open-wheel cars feel unbelievable shooting through the narrow roads and across roundabouts and junctions.
But it would not be AC modding if there were no motorcycles available for what is a title that was never intended to support them. @jurik1984 has created a sidecar motorcycle mod for the IMZ M63S Strela-1 that should feel right at home on the Isle of Man Mountain Circuit - do let us know how you get on should you decide to try these bikes!
Which car would you send around the Isle of Man TT Circuit? Let us know over on X @OverTake_gg or down in the comments below!

Road Surface & Scenery
Whilst not a part of the new update, the road surface of the original is still very detailed - especially if you like to mess around with the photo mode within Assetto Corsa. The ability to catch cars bottoming out on the bumps of the unrestricted roads of the IOM is something very special that is very hard to find, even in a title with a modding base as wide as Assetto Corsa.Radical SR3 XXR's screaming around the IOM TT Circuit.
