RaceRoom To Add BMW M2 CS Racing, Two More BMWs

More content is heading RaceRoom's way: Three BMWs are coming to the sim in May, the first one being the BMW M2 CS Racing.

ACC racers will likely be familiar with the BMW M2 CS Racing - it is BMW's 450-hp touring car that is already in the Kunos sim and runs in one-make series, as well as in the NLS and Nürburgring 24 Hours in real life. The car sports a 3-liter twin-turbo straight 6 engine and paddle shifters, making it relatively easy to tame.

Close racing should be guaranteed in the M2 CS Racing. It will release with various real-world liveries and is intended to be an upgrade over the BMW M235i already available in RaceRoom.

However, the car is just one of three to be added to the sim in May. RaceRoom themselves state that "we are adding 3 exciting new BMW cars to RaceRoom". The M4 GT3 is already in the sim, both as part of the latest DTM packs and as an entry into the GTR 3 class, so it can most likely be ruled out.

What else could be coming, though? Well, there is a wealth of historic racers that could still be coming - and a contemporary prototype by the name of BMW M Hybrid V8 currently running in both IMSA and WEC. The other two cars are set to be unveiled in the next few days.

What other BMWs could RaceRoom be adding this May? Let us know your guesses on Twitter @OverTake_gg or in the comments below!

Yes it's been broken for a while now, reminds me that the same thing happened in rF2, which like RRE went from the best AI to terrible and it took them ages to get it back to a reasonable standard.
Hopefully they'll not take too long to fix it.
I hope, it's only for that I dont play raceroom at this moment, most of the new cars have massive AI accidents....

Exactly, it was the sim you could use to jump into a race with the adaptive AI, no need to practice a lot, even without mastering the track, just a few laps so that the AI could adapt itself to your speed. And after that, you were sure to have a solid racing experience.

I don't have time to go through all categories from the MX5 in ranked races, and non ranked ones are usually empty except for the GT3 category.

So what's left to enjoy racing with RRE's unique and original content like GTO, Group5 (...)? Racing against AIs...

Yep, a few practice laps, 5 or 10 minutes qually and you could bang doors and enjoy what imho was the most visceral AI racing available.

I just want to see the BMW CSL 3.0, an additional car in the Group 2
At the moment in the Group 2 there is only one car, the Sirocco

They should fix the ffb, it feels very bad and for this reason I don't play raceroom
Agreed, they got a new guy in few years back and its never felt the same since, used to play a lot but something got lost somewhere for me, i'll fire it up once in a while but like with AMS2 it just can never hold my attention.

honestly, with my simucube 2 pro, raceroom is one the best FFB on the market, with rf2 and acc, I have read raceroom now is made for high end DD to feels the new FFB...

I don't even bother anymore. Some tracks the fps is okay, others are horrid. I run a 4070ti, get 80-100 fps in AMS2, ACC. I used to enjoy it two years ago. Now, I don't touch it.

You can tell yourself that all you want, but no game is made only for 'high end ' wheels. Bad ffb is bad ffb regardless of wheel, people convince themselves that's not the case.
If it were true, which it isn't, any developer making a game only to be used by a small percentage of users then they would be utterly stupid beyond comprehension.

Do you honestly think that any developer sits down and looks at a tiny niche sector like sim racing and then makes it even smaller by catering to those only who splash out on high end wheels?

Deluded land.
If i could be bothered i'd try to dial it all in but Assetto and modding takes up all of my game time so raceroom just sits there, i'll never uninstall it though.
Gamer muscle once said something i agreed with, which is that these high end wheels are far more advanced than any current sim game can manage, a lot of sims just have really awful ffb, PCars is a good example of that, and yes although i have a TS PC wheel which isn't 'high end', i have used all the direct drive wheels at points and i always hoped to be totally blown away by them but the differences were not as massive as i'd of liked to go the extra spend and hassle.

The current popular theory of FFB from simracing devs is that the FFB should be minimalistic; no effects, no g-forces, no exaggerated suspension forces, no braking feel, only the tyre forces, the gyroscopic forces and the steering rack resistance. A modern tyre model on a DD wheel probably works very well with that theory.

The problem is that if your tyre model is old-fashioned and static, and your track models are porcelain smooth, that theory does not deliver a very interesting driving experience, certainly not on lower-powered wheels.

bad FFB is bad FFB, opinion is just opinion....not the reality.
From my point of view and with my hardware and experience, Raceroom FFB is one of the best.

No simucube 2 I guess ? ;)

And like I've said ACC,rF2, iRacing and Raceroom are the games which shine with a highend DD, like Simucube 2 ;)

It's night and day compared to my old thrustmaster ts pc racer. Even Aaris from ACC, has said something like"no DD on ACC is wast" ;)

Last time I've played the game (after the tyres update) the information transmited to the FFB were good but, with a non DD wheel, something was missing. Maybe some.road feel, and it was car dependent. I'm sure reintroducing 1 or 2 other sliders (not all the complex parameters from the beginning, something à la Pcars2) would be really useful and perfect the experience for all users.

That's so obvious one shouldn't even bother to mention this. And I'm saying this as a SC2 Pro owner.

I switched to SC2 Pro years ago from a T300. And when I initially sat with it for the first time I felt similar to you. But funny thing is that now when I dialed it in and got used to it for years now going back to T300 feels like flexible plastic toy where every nuance gets lost in the plastic flex. The difference is beyond comprehension.

You would have to believe this though wouldn't you?
It's always the same, many sim games have awful FFB and people will convince you that a DD wheel is all the difference, but its just totally untrue, DD can't make bad FFB in a game suddenly amazing, its just jargon.

DD wheels do the extra power and strength better, but that isn't necessarily accurate as cars have power steering , i don't even run my TS PC at full strength anyway.

With ACC, iRacing, rF2 or Raceroom, there is no bad game, only bad wheels ;), when you convince yourself than a ts pc racer can challenge a simucube, one day maybe you will be in the high end party too. I remember I had a ts pc racer ;) and raceroom with a simucube was the best game with a major changement ;).

anyway my last answer about bad FFB and highend DD ;)

Well 90 percent of people reading know that is utter guff and deep down the rest including you know it too. I'll leave you and your weird winking tick to your own thoughts now......
