Colin McRae Bonus Content Offered for WRC 10 Pre-Orders

WRC 10 Pre Order Bonus 01.jpg
Players who pre-order their copy of the upcoming WRC 10 game will get the chance to drive Colin McRae's 1997 Subaru Impreza WRC at the Rally Sanremo.

Building up to their September 2nd release of WRC 10, developer Kylotonn has offered a bonus for those pre-ordering the game. Players will get to race at the Rally Sanremo in Colin McRae's 1997 Subaru Impreza WRC.

KT Racing (Kylotonn) has leaned heavily into WRC’s 50th anniversary for the forthcoming title, offering players a chance to race many classic rally scenarios including Acropolis, San Remo, Germany and Argentina, along with classic rally cars from Alpine, Audi, Lancia, Subaru, Ford, Mitsubishi and Toyota.

WRC 10 has fans of the series anxiously anticipating the release of the title for several reasons. In addition to the inclusion of the 2021 WRC season’s 52 official teams from WRC, WRC2, WRC3 and Junior WRC, the title will also feature 4 new rallies in Estonia, Croatia, Belgium and Spain. This year’s edition also received a high-profile endorsement from none other than Sebastien Loeb, which you can read about in Steve’s WRC 10 article from last month. Lastly, the release of the title in early September will be followed shortly by the 2021 WRC eSports finals in Greece.

The official WRC Game Twitter account sent out a supplemental tweet after the initial announcement tweet had prompted some users to respond that pre-orders weren’t available on all PC platforms. The second tweet noted that the Colin McRae bonus would be “free for everyone who purchased the Standard or Deluxe Edition in the first two weeks of release (until September 16)”.

Let us know in the comments below if you’re excited to try WRC 10 next month, and if you plan to pre-order.

I've not bought any new sim titles in a long time, AMS1 and AC service all my needs! :D I've not played any rally game since Richard Burns, but this series is supposedly improving all the time, and with all this content I may just take the plunge. :)

Stop pre-ordering games. This isn't just about WRC 10, you should not pre-order any game ever. Pre-ordering games is a rotten practice that contributes to developers releasing unfinished games.

Coincidentally, I do not plan to pre-order WRC 10.

Laughing at your last sentence! :D
You are right of course.

The only time I pre-order is on the day before release, and then only if there's a discount to be had.

That said let's go to the questions:

1) Am I excited to try WRC 10? Well I wouldn't go as far as excited, but I am interested.

2) Do I plan to pre-order? As above, but only if I feel like it. I may well wait for others opinions on the game before digging into my wallet - I've way too many unplayed games to really warrant another rally sim.

I know it's not McRae but hope they include the Toyota Supra from that same period. You'll remember it from the original Sega Rally. Really miss not having that car in any of the latter rally games/sims.

Well, here's the problem.. I've been asking these same 3 questions over and over again trying to find out answers and I still haven't got any.. So until I get some freakin answers, I'll just keep driving Richard Burns Rally.

1) Will this game have actual triple screen support?
2)Will it have an actual FOV adjustment and not the sorry excuse for whatever the hell they tried to do with WRC8?
3) Will I be able to use my custom handbrake? There seems to be a lot of problems in past WRC titles when it comes to multiple inputs.

That was the Toyota Celica - as the car was banned because the team were cheating, I’d suggest it’d be unlikely it’s included. The earlier model celica may well be though.

I’ll probably give WRC10 a whirl, I’m a sucker for anything McRae so I look forward to seeing that content. Will I pre order though? Probably not.

I have just started the second half of my career in WRC08 and am enjoying it a lot, the stages are truly awesome, the driving feeling is not a match at all to Dirt Rally or Dirt Rally 2.0. While waiting for Codemasters to start doing the WRC games, Kyloton's WRC09 and then later 10 will definitely keep me entertained, probably two years after their respective release date, lol.

I pre-ordered DR 2.0 back then and got quiet angry of being abused as a quasi-beta-tester again (Codies have always been good at PR and truckloads of related Blahblah ) . At least they delivered with about half a year delay (by additional Deluxe, Super-Deluxe, Superduper-Deluxe Editions at most :O_o:) and over the course of two years, but I can only agree on NOT PROMOTING this business policy at fanzines, fan-communities and channels whatsoever - and there are still enough blind sheeps and fanboys/-girls out there who will buy
The other title I ever pre-ordered was SW: Squadrons out of a recurring Star Wars hype, but after only a year after that game seems to be almost dead now - not a totally fail but wasn't exactly that what has been promised or anticipated - ("EA"= Just sayin').
Pre-Order ? Never ever again ! ;)

1) You KNOW it won't :p
2&3) They fixed both of those issues in WRC9

I will always quote Total Biscuit and his song when it comes to pre-orders.

"Just one more preorder, the publisher said
Then we will unlock a cool hat for your head
You'll save 10 percent if you order today
The game is not out yet but we ask you to pay

The previews are glowing, so make no mistake
this game is amazing though the screenshots are fake
But check out this gameplay it's a vertical slice
so before you have played it, please put down full price

We love all the fanboys so we ask you to pay,
for our unfinished product that we'll patch the 1st day
It's still bloody broken 6 months down the line
But you got a free skinpack so it all turned out fine.

I trusted the trailer, oh why would they lie?
They gave an xp boost so I just had to buy
This game is atrocious, it should have been free
But I just cannot wait to buy the dlc."

(sorry for sharing a "christmas" song in the summer)

The thing is even with that promo I don't really see that much of a "wow" factor. Yeah in spots the vegetation looks good but the inside cockpit looks dated? yeah dated. I went back and slowed it down and it looks average. The external dirt and ground textures are less than great, the tyre effect on the surface look as dated as the internal shots.
Edit , I went to the official site where I was looking at another video where I saw the internal shots. Worth doing if you intend to invest in this sim. considering that's where most players will view the sim from.

It just doesn't look like a 2021 sim to me. I would have hoped for a Dirt 2 challenger here, but from what I can see here it looks to be a 2021 regret buy. I hope I'm wrong and they pull out something special, but if they were expecting an avalanche of pre orders on that trailer they might be a little disappointed.
