Announced as far back as the 24 Hours of Spa event in 2022, Assetto Corsa Competizione’s latest premium downloadable content pack, GT2, is starting to shape up – with the KTM X-Bow GT2 confirmed for inclusion today, 3rd January 2024.

The Austrian supercar places a five-cylinder Audi engine in the middle, outputting 600bhp which is sent to the rear rears via a Holinger six-speed sequential gearbox.

Of note, the version on display in-sim appears to feature additional lights at the front (central, above the splitter and below the KTM badge) used for longer endurance races, at venues (amongst others) such as the Nürburgring.

Apt, as the Nürburgring Nordschleife also makes its way to the platform later in 2024.

The initials ‘KOF’ also appear on the digital driver-name windscreen readout, potentially indicating KTM driver Reinhard Kofler.

It marks the second vehicle by KTM available for the ACC platform, following the X-Bow GT4 which was part of an 11-car pack released in 2020.

One of its most unique features is its carbon fibre monocoque construction which features a jetfighter-inspired opening canopy, in lieu of traditional doors.

It has followed the likes of the Porsche 935 (2019), Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo, Audi R8 LMS GT2 and Maserati MC20 GT2 as being part of the line-up.

Based on what Kunos Simulazioni co-founder Marco Massarutto highlighted 18 months ago about what he’d like to see included, here’s how the line-up is shaping up so far:
  • Audi R8 LMS GT2
  • Brabham BT63 GT2
  • KTM X-Bow GT2
  • Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo GT2
  • Maserati MC20 GT2
  • Mercedes-AMG GT2
  • Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo
  • Porsche 935 (2019)
It’s worth bearing in mind that the Lamborghini that has raced in SRO’s GT2 events is a derivation of the Super Trofeo car already available for the platform – so we await to see if that tweaked model is part of this pack.

The final release date, price and console conversion status are still to be confirmed, alongside if any track will be part of the set.

some new parameters, some new liveries and the refurbished car pack is ready to go out to all paying customers :) No big deal for the devs. Can be done by a one man show.

Kunos please, give us AC2 and a proper VR support
More interesting more cars and tracks for ACC, less than 1% use VR, so i hope Kunos will not release AC2 and releasing more DLC like this, TCR, or SRO Legends with Aston Martin Dbrs9, Mercedes SLS, Ferrari 430, and Bmw Z4...do u imagine those beasts on ACC and in Nordschleife?? wow!!! with driver swap in ACC will be a dream come true

I'm trying to understand exactly which version of the car they're making because that's neither here nor there. The endurance lights on the front pillar are usually only used on the GTX car and that one lacks the side mirrors (replaced by small digital cameras) because they're only required for FIA-homologation which looks like this.

There also seem to be a Lumirank system installed, which is also wrong as that's not used in SRO competition either. The only car(s) that look like the one in ACC are the GT2-spec cars entered as SPX/GTX that occasionally compete in the 24h Series.

And finally, if we were to be pedantic, some GT2-spec cars also had dive planes installed, but again not used in SRO competition.

So I'm wondering if they either made the wrong car, or are going to go the 296 GT3 route and include both the "endurance" front bumper and the "sprint" front bumper. Going for the second option should be the case, hopefully for them, but if it's the former it's embarassing.

As far as I know they either receive CAD data from the manufacturer or given a specific car to model. Regarding the Lumirank, since ACC uses it as a game mechanic, it would make sense to add it to the sim car even if the real one doesn't use it in that specific championship. We are expecting some multiclass with these cars where it makes sense to have.

Will they bring the 488 Challenge into the GT2 fold too? Already released and i've seen one race in GT2 so...
Good point - but it remains unclear. As it's already available in a seemingly identical specification, I wonder if it doesn't arrive (again) as part of this DLC and instead, we have the option of adding it to a GT2 race? Let's see!
