The next addition for Assetto Corsa Competizione’s upcoming GT2 downloadable content has been unveiled, as Audi’s entry is showcased.
Yet another car has been showcased for Assetto Corsa Competizione’s upcoming car pack, and this time it’s the turn of the Audi R8 LMS GT2.
The racing version of the sports car has a mid-mounted 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine. It outputs 640 hp through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
This means that Ingolstadt’s finest joins two Porsches, the 935 (2019) and 911 GT2 RS CS EVO Kit, as both confirmed and showcased for Assetto Corsa Competizione’s new set of vehicles.
The GT2 Pack will be the first paid-for DLC since April’s 2023 GT World Challenge Pack – which included three GT3 vehicles plus Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
This latest DLC was first announced during the 24 Hours of Spa event in 2022 with a target release of this year. Back then, the following vehicles were confirmed by Kunos Co-Founder Marco Massarutto – although what arrives in the final group is still to be validated.
The same is true of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S availability – typically, developers Kunos Simulazioni release new content for PC before Untold Games then work on the console versions. We also await details of any quality-of-life changes that may, or may not, arrive at the same time.
It will launch ahead of a 2024-season pack that includes the much-requested Nürburgring Nordschleife layout. Meanwhile, the next all-new Assetto Corsa title is now expected in ‘summer 2024’.
