Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged is coming this October, and the sequel to the successful first iteration of the series is adding more vehicles, interesting features and new gameplay mechanics - which are now available for preview in the game's first gameplay trailer.

130 Vehicles, New Environments

More content is usually a nice thing to have, and Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 makes sure there is plenty of it with the addition of ATVs and motorbikes - but it does not stop there: New environments are also set to spice up the Turbocharged experience, as players will be able to race in a suburban Backyard, a Wild-West-themed Mini Golf Course, a Museum, and a Gas Station. Additionally, an entirely empty Track Room will be available, and it is upon the players to fill this room with their own track creations.

At launch, players will be able to race 130 vehicles at these locations, and they are going to be grouped into six categories that match their styles and character: Rocket vehicles are top speed monsters while the Swift category is lighter and more agile - logically, Balanced falls in between the two. Drifter class vehicles excel at taking corners sideways, and the Heavy-Duty category promises large cars and bikes as well as greater durability. Lastly, the Off-Road class is ideal for loose terrain.

Skill Tree Makes its Debut

Vehicles are not fixed in their characteristics, however: Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged introduces a Skill Tree for each vehicle, enabling players to spend skill points to customize different elements like boost capability or handling. Adding to this are abilities including the all-new Lateral Dash, which can be used to quickly avoid obstacles or bump opponents of the track.

Lastly, the Livery Editor has been improved to enable players to create even more colorful and unique designs for their cars, bikes and ATVs. Created liveries will can also be shared online when the game launches on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on October 19th.

It looks very similar to the first game with some new things here and there. I guess that if it has more content (And trigger rumble on Xbox Series) I'll be fine with it.

no vr - no buy, am i right fellas
Exactly.

Besides, I already made my full review of the first title, back in the day of its launch, pointing out the serious flaws in the game physics, tyre model (they feel like solid plastic instead of rubber), and the complete absence of any suspension/differential behavior or setup options. A very limited game indeed.

i hope they'll dismiss that hideous and absurd griding on golden coins and gears.
Then get rid of the horrible rubberband AI, have a better camera for track editor, user created tracks avaible for SP, no more exaggerated blinding solar reflections...

Better than Forza Horizon 5 HW? Which btw is super boring. Feels slow amd takes 0 skill. Thought it would be fast and fun in an arcade way.

To be honest this is a bit of a turn-off. I get that it's a pure arcade racer but I don't like jumps, double jumps and the side dash thing. Feels like it's distracting from the fun of racing cars.
