It was no secret that RaceRoom would add the BMW M4 GT3 to its extensive vehicle roster in May - and now, it is here: The latest Bavarian GT3 machine roars onto the sim's grids and is complemented by updates to the physics and FFB models.

First revealed in the release roadmap outlined in early May, the M4 GT3 is the fourth new car of 2023 to be added to the sim. Previously, the On the Edge Pack brought the Mazda RT24-P DPI car, the McLaren 570S GT4 and KTM X-Bow GT2 to RaceRoom. Three Porsche cars are set to follow in July, one of which will compete with the BMW in GT3 as the up-to-date Porsche 992 911 GT3 R is in the works.

The sim's latest addition has seen considerable success on real circuits in 2023 already: Off to a great start with an overall win in the 24 Hours of Dubai in January, it has since taken victor in every race of the Nürburgring endurance series NLS. The car also enters the 2023 DTM season as the series' reigning champion, having taken victory in the hands of Sheldon van der Linde in 2022.

The May update was planned as one of three smaller releases in between the bigger updates scheduled for July, October and December. Sim racers can look forward to the current GT3 Porsche as well as the 992 GT3 Cup and 944 Turbo Cup cars, the Circuit Pau-Ville Touring Car Pack and a Christmas Special - the latter two have not yet been fully revealed, so RaceRoom still has some suprises left for 2023.

Physics & FFB Updates
RaceRoom also has a physics update in store: The GT3 class received a reworked system that adjusts balance of performance, downforce and drag, and other parameters to bring them in line to the real cars more. Additionally, the FFB system introduces a new linearity update which eliminates the need for the FFB Linearity slider in the settings menu. According to developer KW Studios, this will make "all the cars feel more grounded and solid to drive, particularly at low speed." This should be good news not just to fans of the new M4 GT3, but RaceRoom in general.MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi made the switch to a BMW M4 GT3 in 2023. Image Credit: KW Studios/RaceRoom

More to Come
RaceRoom is the fourth racing sim to officially feature the BMW M4 GT3, following in the footsteps of iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione and rFactor 2. As a result, it should be interesting to see how it compares to its virtual brothers. The M4 GT3 has felt right at home at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in 2023 thus far.
