Rennsport Teases Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) Release for January 6

Rennsport, the upcoming German racing simulator, is getting ready for the beta release. Before that, alpha players will get the opportunity to see a new Porsche, the 911 GT3 R (992).

After rFactor 2 already released its Porsche 992 DLC for Christmas, Rennsport will therefore be the next developer to include a car from the 992 series in its roster.

This new Porsche is the continuation of the "world's best-selling race car", the 911. Following the footsteps of the 991, this seventh-generation 911 aims to keep up the tradition of generating sporting success for Porsche.

Immediate Rennsport Future​

With this inclusion, existing alpha players will be able to race the new Porsche around Hockenheimring. However, how does the beta timeline look?

According to the most recent Discord QnA, the closed beta has been delayed to early 2023. We should be getting news of the exact dates soon.

i wanted to be closed beta tester, but as more make my research for this game i do not think it will be any special at all, so iracing is still a king!
Wow, you stepping down? what a big loss and wasted chance to the whole sim racing genre.

I'm sure you are smarter than all those developers in Germany and around the world, than UE5, than ESL and everything else.

I'm sure iRacing's 2008 technology is better than any-and-every work-and-effort done the decade after, and the decade after it.

Keep these kinds of comments coming, they're brilliant.

So far I have knowlage will Rennsport not bring anything new to the Table. It just sounds like a copy of ACC. The graphical Fidality may be higher but what is its USP? GT3 Cars are abundant in other Sim titles like ACC where they are the Focus. iRacing and AC(mods) have a plathera of Cars not only focused on GT3 cars but also on others like Formula, GT, Stock Car etc. The thing that they need to get right is the Handling and the Track Surface, otherwise it is an ACC clone. In that case ACC is still ahead as it is linked to an Official GT3 Series and includes different cars too like Porsche Cup, GT4 and some others.

For what I know I am not feeling any excitement for the Game because for me GT3 Cars are not really interesting. I despise the Nordschleife, and if that is the only selling point for Butt Hurt ACC players because that track isnt there, its really not a well thought out product.

Rennsport team should seriously start considering calling it a day.

Seriously, this isn't what it sounds like, I don't mean any specific person, I am talking about myself and others in what's called "sim racing community" in general.

If we in "the community" are so anti any help you give us, and will fight anything new even before release and we even hate ourselves, then why help us to begin with? I heard that big money has been invested in this sim already. From what I learned being here and reading, is no future and no revenue to chase by making sim racing software, otherwise why do sim racing titles keep regurgitating DLC after DLC after DLC for decades? It's because they want to recoup what they invested. ESL can stick to mobile gaming, any silly arcade or FPS Esports where there are millions and millions and millions of children ready to play-or-watch their games.. There's no hope here.
 
Not too excited about it unless it has some unusual track/car combo options. "GT3 at Spa" type thing has gotten so old by now. iRacing at least has something fresh with Road Atlanta and Magny Cours for example. But official style tracks and cars like in ACC are everywhere now, so what's the point of another "clone" as said above?

I look forward to seeing what they can deliver to the simracing world.
Hopefully it will be better than the Rf2 version at default settings.
That car out-ot-the-box is an absolute mess.
It can be dialed in and made to feels okay but that should not need to be the case.

if you fly by with 300kph you don't see that few drops.
BTW. Releasedate is end of 2024.
Many things can change and get better in 2 years.
So, why moaning about first alpha impressions?
 
A GT3 Porsche, wow, that is really interesting, or would have been before Kunos broke the mold with AC, many years ago, bringing Porsche to the sim community in a proper racing simulator.

Looking forward to try Rennsport, if and when, it is ever available to try, might get exited then, expectations a really low though. In my world value is usually inversely proportionate to the amount of marketing necessary to try to generate interest. Good value will blow everybody up, with or without marketing.

Porsche was in proper simulators before.

Yes, iRacing has its drawbacks, GFX being its biggest. Yet, it is also the only sim out there that can offer races at any time, and the numbers show just how popular it is.

I don't race because I want pretty scenery, I race because I want to compete. iRacing offers that to me.

Sure, I can compete in ACC, but when I can only find a race that has a lot of competitors at Spa ( A track I love) or Monza (the track most new drivers go to because it is fast and "easy") then the sim becomes boring.

Every time I go into ACC and want to race at Kyalami, or some other track that is not Spa or Monza, I lose out.

ACC is a very good sim, but the users do the same old thing.

That relegates the sim to the back burner.
