London E-Prix Completes rFactor 2 Q4 Content Drop

Last but not least on the list of many Q4 releases for rFactor 2 is something quite unexpected, to say the least. The London ExCeL E-Prix is coming to the simulation many forget also officially features Formula E content.

With so many recent releases in the WEC and BTCC direction, it is an almost forgettable thing that rFactor 2 still officially hosts Formula E content on its platform. What comes, to no great surprise, with not the best response on the internet is the release of one of Formula E's tracks, the London E-Prix at the ExCeL centre.

The 2.252 km track with 22 turns runs along the Thames waterfront in London, UK. Furthermore, what can be said about the venue, is it's certainly quite unique.

Formula E fans will have everything they need, racing the previous generations of vehicles on the circuit. What is missing, however, is the upcoming generation of Formula E.

This release shows that rFactor 2 is still committed to the Formula E license and will continue to support the electric racing series.

Hmmm… not sure if I am too happy about this. I normally buy the complete content drop pack, but if this track is part of it, I may reconsider. I just don’t like these Formula-E tracks. The last few Formula E tracks are the only rF2 DLC that I never bought. Maybe in a sale in the future, but they have never been on sale as a track only, and I own already most older Formula E DLC, so the pack sales are not interesting.

Let’s wait and see watch the purchase options will be for the Q4 2022 content drop.:D

Enjoying the Formula E Tracks for, wait for it:p.....the 'Austin MINI'....it's an absolute riot and well suited(personal opinion) around all the tight, sharp turns of a Formula E Track:thumbsup:...even the BTCC Cars are great around these tracks.

I will purchase the London E track for sure

I bought the very first formula E stuff but have avoided it since just have zero interest in it. Disappointed this would be part of an overall content drop as I don't imagine there is a huge amount of players with E content.

I, too, am a gamer and demand every single piece of content is suited to me personally and, for some reason, think gaming companies should base what they do according to impotent anger on forums rather than sales figures. like all companies actually do.

Nah, jk. And formula e is fun to play around with from time to time. Plus the London track, in particular is a neat novelty to add to your library with half of it being indoors and all. Hell, third party London tracks have even been... dare I say... fun.

We have done one FE race in the rF2 Racing Club here at RD. It was a very unique and cool experience. Different style of racing, and surprisingly fun cars.
I believe it's our responsibility as racing fans to stop electric racing before it's too late. Climate change may be a thing but we want loud racing cars running on petrol. Stop the nonsense.

S397, please listen to people. No one cares about ridiculous e-racing, stop wasting your resources.
FE did the track: "Developed and built by Formula E themselves for use within rFactor 2" -> from the article

So no, nothing wasted (not that it would have been a waste anyway, but thats subjective)

Hmmm… I need to try this with the Mini and BTCC cars… and that may change my opnion on these Formula E tracks.:D

I'm a total petrol head, but, the FE cars are actually really fun to drive, and the FE circuits are certainly challenging - BUT - they are unusable.

Why?

1) The AI don't work with attack mode, so you, as a player, have to use the attack path and either gain an advantage, or most likely, loose a whole bunch of time and places to the AI who don't have to do the same thing.

2) It's not on LFM and I cannot commit the time to a league.

So, the content is pointless for most people.

If they (S397) could sort out the AI then it would be very different.

Please dont include this in the pack. I dont want a pack is only reduced if you value the billboard orgasm that is an e track.

Its funny how you see yourself as this protector of the holy. If other people like formula e, then let them like it. People similar to you like to criticise people wanting to control what they do while you are trying to do the exact same.

I believe it's our responsibility as racing fans to stop horse racing before it's too late. Industrial revolution may be a thing but we want real racing horses running on hay. Stop the nonsense.
