As found out initially during the F1-style car release, trucks are now making their way to RaceRoom. Get ready to drive big rigs on small tracks and try to overtake with these massive racing beasts.
Trucks are coming to RaceRoom. The Swedish sim is now receiving big rigs to drive for everyone. This has been known since the F1-style vehicles have been released, however, it was just a matter of time before this announcement would come.
The trucks featured in the video seem to be exactly as though, RaceRoom branded. Meaning there will be no Ivecos, no MANs, just no real-life branded trucks for now.
This stands in stark contrast to the only real sim racing competitor in this space: AMS 2. The Brazilian sim does feature trucks as well but features real-life brands competing in the Brazilian Copa Truck.
RaceRooms developer, KW Studios, claims in this teaser video that their virtual trucks were/are developed with real drivers.
No new tracks seem to have been teased in this video, this means that to simulate a virtual European Truck Racing Championship, you would have to replace a few tracks still. Misano, Bugatti Circuit and Circuito del Jarama would have to find replacements if you plan on starting a virtual championship.
But on the other hand, good tracks for truck racing, like Autodrom Most and Slovakia Ring are already featured within RaceRoom.
