Forza Motorsport 2023 News

General Manager of Forza Motorsport Dan Greenawalt and Creative Director Chris Esaki joined the stream this time to update the general audience about the new Forza Motorsport, planned to release in Spring 2023.

After introducing these 2 key team members briefly, the Monthly switched to the topic at hand: the upcoming game.

Unfortunately, the news boils down to:
We are working on it.

There was nothing specific to show or say. It was more of an explanation from the team members about how the game development process takes time.

What are your thoughts on that bombshell news? Let us know in the comments down below!

They have time to present the new game which will be displayed in the gamepass, all over the internet, on all the video game sites, on the pirate networks and even on the moon before the Artemis space mission. Microsoft Power lol

I recently played FH5 for the 1st time. Well, I played Threes on my phone whilst suffering through the unskippable cutscenes/story-line/quick gameplay car switches/more cutscenes. Then drove about 10min and got bored. I guess sims have spoiled me.

Any chance this'll be a bit more realistic?

Recent FH games strike such a good balance between arcade yet plausible and fun handling that I wish all arcade racers felt similar. FH was never meant to be a sim. Not every racing game has to be a sim. FH has issues on its own though and can get boring rather quickly. I usually tend to get the cars I want from the weekly playlist and rarely play it beyond that.

But your post very well describes how modern media consumption caused the very short attention span people have nowadays (myself included, unfortunately, fighting it).

From the (unofficial) FFB and motion effects FH5 was a positive surprise. It feels like a mature physics engine is under the arcade hood and I have high hopes for FM8. The sim racing market has grown a lot since FM7 with far more owners of FFB-wheels and pedals, so it would also make financially sense to move more towards a sim-title and leave the rather unsuccessful simcade market like GRID and pCars 3 to Codemasters/EA. FM8 will probably provide a more semi-sim'ish driving experience, but after the success of MSFS it could potentially steal AC2 the show.

whüt?

I guess your conclusion very well describes how people nowadays on the internet and IRL, jump to conclusions and push their own limited perspective upon every situation without knowing, asking or considering about any of the context of the situation /s ;)

I play they few games I play for 10's-100's of hours. But they have to interest me. Also I HATE unskippable cutscenes and have never really cared about any game story that is not unfolding in-game but in cutscenes. That's the way I've played since the early 90's on pc/console/etc.

Just like grabbing a menu somewhere with different courses, I prefer to have the option to skip something I might not like and not have it forcefully stuffed down my throat just to get of the parts of the meal I like.

I am more about the gameplay. The start of this game is like sitting through movie trailers & commercials before you can actually watch the film you're in the theatre for.

My comment about how sims spoiled me is how I cannot seem to enjoy the simcade series I used to love anymore. Hell, lots of sim racers never play good sims because they don't like the feel. All power to anybody and what they like.

Not every racing game needs to be a sim. Not every comment/post needs feedback or unwarranted reflection. (yes I am a tiny bit hypocritical here #minorselfreflection)

Anyway, I appreciated how you feel about the game and culture thing, just didn't have to drag me into it :)

Ok Turn 10 F I V E years since Forza 7 and you're still keeping tight lipped about the next game? Come on!

My reaction was more about when there is a little bit of downtime (ads, cutscenes, loading screens, a bit of pause in a conversation, you name it) people instantly grab their smartphone to do stuff. And it's not a you thing it's a global thing, your post just highlighted it and I wanted to touch on it, because I think it's important. I am guilty of it, my girlfriend is guilty of it. People just get instantly bored and it's better to scroll through the same feed 10+ times a day than wait like a minute in peace. It just feels so empty to wait a little, it's terrible when I think about it how "rewired" we became. And I based all these examples on myself so please don't feel called out. Apologies if I offended you.

to me its alarming that they have nothing to show from FM 2023.
as it was stated before, it has been almost 5 years since FM 7 and we have seen zero ACTUAL gameplay.
what we've seen did not impress me btw.

Oh no, hence the /s for sarcasm. No worries, no explanation needed, all good :)

I too hate social media/ppl on their phones when together. Threes is the only game I play on my phone to kill some time btw xD

Though I'm guilty of grabbing my phone too, just usually not when in company. I always need something to do, but a walk will do that as much as reading tech news etc. on the pocket tube.

The short attention span target demographic of the game is exactly why I detest forcibly sitting through the start of it. Quick flashy short shouty videos, flashing between different cars, driving them for seconds before moving on. If forced to do the 'intro' & 'tutorial' I'd rather have 1 longer video and 1 complete race instead of this garbled flashy mess :)

Yes, the cutscenes can be particularly painful, but if you added naked fans, or giraffes or aliens in the audience, you'd think WTF is going to happen to me every time.

After all, we're far from a WWE wrestling type game where you have to play 20% of the game in a career mode and the rest of the time you're in the menus or doing interviews or customising the pink underwear with your fighter's pearls.

It has been 5 years since FM7, but not for me, I took advantage of the rebates and installed FM7 on my PC about a year ago, more curious than anything and with low (very low) expectations.
I have to admit, it has been gaining on me and I have spent a lot more time than I ever expected enjoying this title.
I usually 100% drive in VR, but every once in a while, I drive on single screen. Lately when I do it is almost exclusively FM7.
It kind of brings me back to my racing game beginning, GT. But GT does not play on PC, so Forza was the closest and at this point, I feel it is vastly superior to GT.
I am looking forward to what FM 2023 will be, I am glad they are taking their time, I am hoping for VR, but even if not, I still might be tempted, when I am less incline to more simulation and prefer the lightness of a good racing game.
