American Truck Sim Version 1.44 To Bring Eight New Special Transport Routes

American Truck Sim Special Transport 01.jpg
An upcoming update to American Truck Simulator will see the Special Transport DLC get eight new routes.

Perhaps the most chill way to enjoy simulated driving is by enjoying some time in Euro or American Truck Simulator. But for those who enjoy a challenge mixed in with their fun and relaxation, there will soon be eight fresh missions in ATS' Special Transport DLC.

The new routes will be added when the title moves to version 1.44. The unusually difficult transports will span Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, New Mexico, Idaho and Colorado. Here is a list of the new missions:

  • Lewiston to Sandpoint
  • Burlington to Lamar
  • Salina to Cedar City
  • Omak to Yakima
  • Dalles to Salem
  • Santa Fe to Socorro
  • Cheyenne to Rock Springs
  • Winnemucca to Carson City

Are you an American Truck Sim fan? What about Euro Truck Sim? Let us know in the comments below why you enjoy driving these sims.

How does one go about building an 18 gear shifter? Are there sites for ATS/ETS mods & additions?
Its actually quite easy. Purchase a Eaton Fueller 18 speed shift knob, Generic USB joystick controller board, some micro push buttons. But the are several commerically available options as well.

Shift Knob: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07CYY4S4G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Generic Joystick Controller: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06XCP8R5F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (But anyboard should work)

Push Buttons: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01MQYU3ZA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use my own solution. :)

2 toggle schwitches, Leobodnar BBI-32 board, Usb cable and 3D-printed own construction.
Its like a clamp on the TH8a shifter, cause no damage and can be easily removed/mounted.

Wow. Groundbreaking. It's been 6 years for ATS and 10 whole years for ETS2 and the only new thing they have to show for is....new routes. Well i guess in 10 years we might get a basic career with progression, mechanical failures,seasons....and who knows....maybe 20 years later we might even get larger scale maps. I'm pretty sure they will still have the monopoly because there's no developer willing to get a share of the market.

SCS, the devs of ATS & ETS-2, is in many ways a rolemodel for gaming companies.
Excellent mod tools, specially made, easy to use, are available freely for everyone. I have both games. Sometimes, when I not have the feeling for racing, I go truck simming. Very relaxing for me.
23 mods installed. Rock solid software. Highly recommended.

yeah, I use many mods as well as they do make the game more realistic in look and feel. but the second you have a mod installed you loose support from SCS. If you have any issues they always blame it on any mod you've got installed.

Personal experience.

Oh.. Sorry,FinFan. I didn't know that.

My self and most people run it off-line. The New Convoy mode they implemented recently, may change that.
My point was, their success in the business model. But if Support is lacking, they will pay for it...

That's expected though, isn't it? Say you buy a product, take it home and modify it, it's unlikely that the warranty (support) is valid should you run into any issues.

If you have mods installed and want to run Convoy every player needs to have the same mods installed. Otherwise it doesn't work. And there is no guarantee it will work with the mods at all. They implemented mod suppport in general but said you should only try mods that came over the Steam Workshop. So if you have mods installed from other sites, and that goes for probably each added non SCS-truck. you may experience problems. The convoy feature is still relatively new so maybe it will become better.

Yes and no. The mods are, in my opinion, what's keeping this game alive through all these years. It would still be there with just only SCS content but I doubt the player base would be that massive. And it is their attitude I have issues with. You contact them with a problem and the first question is: do you have mods installed ? If you answer that with "yes" the next reply is: not our problem. In my case the game kept crashing regulary with or without mods installed. Ultimately it wasn't a problem with the game at all but rather my system. But I got ne help from them.
Plus, there are devs who openly support modding and even feature modders because they do know it helps their game to grow. I like their games but as far as support goes (in general not only concerning mods) I know better companies.

Again, all based on personal experiences.

ATS in VR, with motion rig and shakers, absolutely priceless! Gliding over the south west interstates, feeling that powerful diesel engine and listenting to some country music :) I hope they work on the VR implementation. It is pretty good in VR now with a powerful graphics card and CPU, but there is room for improvement.
