We are on the home stretch for 2024, so it is time to look at the most played racing games on Steam in November 2024.

Note: This is not a definitive list of the games' players. Most are available outside of Steam on platforms such as EA Play, Epic Games, and others, and many on consoles as well, for which the data is not readily available. As a result, this list is based exclusively on the numbers relevant to Steam.

The end of the year usually means more rig time for a lot of sim racers, and with the recent Steam sale, there were plenty of good deals to be had, too. Additionally, a free play weekend surrounding the Las Vegas Grand Prix seems to have gotten F1 24 some more attention.

While the title battle did not go down to the wire after an exciting season, the official Formula One game racked up a new all-time concurrent player peak on November 23, as the title was free to play for anyone over the GP weekend. The previous best was set immediately after release at 6,190 players, so the new peak is a considerable improvement.

Most Played Racing Games on Steam in November 2024 (cap at 250 avg. players; top values in bold). Source: steamcharts.com

Meanwhile, not much has changed at the top of the list, with BeamNG.drive still leading Forza Horizon 4 and Forza Horizon 5. Further down the order, the effect of the v1.6 release for Automobilista 2 does not quite show up yet - which is not a surprise considering the big update was launched on November 29. Despite this, an improvement is already visible.

Interestingly, Le Mans Ultimate has suffered a dip in average players, trailing Studio 397's other entry on the list, rFactor 2. With the recently-released Update 3, this might be a short-lived trend, however, as interest tends to go up after the launch of big updates.

Replace the text in ffb_custom_settings.txt with this:

(rack (/ arm_force M_max_force_at_rack))
(output rack)
(output (* output gain))
(histogram output)

Also: set LFB and FX to 0. Adjust Gain and Damping to your preference. Select Custom for FFB type in settings.
What part of the existing text is to be replaced ? theres loads in there!

Edit: you remove ALL the text in the file, then paste the above 4 lines in and save. If you don't like it and want to use the original custom file, just delete the file and AMS2 will make a new file with previous text you deleted.
I tried this custom ffb file and it is good. Thanks! Keep it simple.
There are many others on Reiza's forum that simulate driving over a butterflies wings (over complicated and 4000 lines of code) , this simple formula reminds me of Realfeel from rF1.

I recently installed rFactor 2 and my impression is terrible. Whatever I did, no matter what settings I set, the graphics remained disgusting and did not change in any way. Secondly, I bought this game as soon as it came out, and I remember for sure that there was a Silverstone track and a Chevrolet Corvette GT3, but none of this is in the game. I remember that after installation, the game downloaded a bunch of content for about 20 Gb, but now it doesn't do that. Why am I being deprived of already paid content? What happened to this game? I'll give this game another chance sometime later, but I don't intend to do that yet - there are other simulators.

Silverstone was removed due to license running out. There is a community maintained version (continued from the S397 one) in the Workshop so you won't be missing anything. Corvette GT3 is a paid mod I think, if you have it you should be able to install it in game in the content manager.
I remember that after installation, the game downloaded a bunch of content for about 20 Gb, but now it doesn't do that.
If it doesn't do that now it's a blessing. It always driven me crazy it did that. All that content is available in the Workshop. If you search for S397 made stuff you'll get that.
The content you paid for should be available in the content manager in game.

No. There was a GT3 C6 Corvette. There was no livery, they were just different colors. Yellow, orange, blue, etc. But it was a Corvette C6 GT3 .

I mean, I'm also more against it than for it, but there was one good point about it - you could start playing right away, and now the game takes up 3GB and there's almost nothing in it. In the end, you could just delete what you don't like. In my opinion, there is more free content in iRacing today than in this sim.

Guys I went trough the list a couple of times. Where is Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crap??? RBR might be hard to track or most people play it offline?

No surprise.... the difficult simulation (like LMU, RF2) are at the bottom of the list. The arcade game (life forza horizon) are at the top.

This is my opinion, what is yours?
RF2 has a horrible UI, very inconsistent content, graphics are not the best also.
LMU is still in early access and with the uncertainty of MSG situation a lot of people (myself included) are waiting to see what happens before purchasing it.

GT2 to be exact. GT3 is a paid mod (C7).

Like I said, if it's not a paid mod it can be found in the workshop. It's really not that hard.

Slipstreaming over 200mph in C6.
Windshear and buffer was insane :x3::x3::x3: ....DYNAMICS GOT TO LOVE 'EM.

...but wait, how do you get a stock C6 to hit 200mph+ at Longford's flying mile ? 🤣😘
Move 'dem haybales ;)

Ohhh, that may be a problem in other engines, AC cough cough :whistling::p
Dynamics got to love 'em :coffee:

IN YOUR OPINION ! 😘

May want to test 2024 version me thinks ;)
And of course the rf2 salesman showed up.

And yes, IT IS MY OPINION, it would be weird if I posted someone else opinion here I guess.

But you can't deny that the best drive feeling on the market (and yes, that's my opinion) is not enough to make people come back to it if the whole game is not properly developed.

I'll eventually try LMU though, I can't make a statement on that one apart from the fact that I don't know if the game will live long enough.

I was funning, blew you a kiss and winked LOL

Salesman, I'll take it, I can be content I did all I could to promote it, publishing rfmods, guides how to run a offline race in a server and it's benefits, how to archive your whole rF2 library and tools to mange very easy, how to save MAS2 information with GMEs so as to edit rfmods, paid $500 to update F3 Cars so others could enjoy, ran a server 24/7 for just F3 specifically to 1:1 train newcomers and make them feel welcome.
If I could mod I would be doing that all day long too.

I agree what you say first UI was really bad but honestly I did not want them to waste their time on it and said as much. Now I admit I happier with new UI that I find works 100%

From early on ISI were never going to have the resources to update everything, was crystal I think.
Same goes for S397 this last sale must be 20 new reviews, probably sold 4 figures if that might cover
lunches for a year. There wouldn't even be profit at 75% off to buy lunches.

I never ever denied ISI is flawed.
My biggest sayings are "warts and all" the "Good Bad and the Ugly" and "Only a face a mother would love"
I would say if nothing I am the most honest because according to the majority other engines are near perfect.
