Community Letter: Thank You For All The Positivity! Monthly Giveaways Start Soon

OverTake-Logo-Neon-Office.jpg
We kicked off December with seven days of hardware giveaways for our community - and we are overwhelmed by your positivity. For that, we want to thank you ahead of our other giveaway set to start this month.

Dear OverTake community,
These last few days have been crazy! Not only are we getting some massive game updates and content releases across multiple sims, we also made some of our own waves here at OverTake. In our first-ever 7 days / 7 prizes giveaway, lucky random members won some pretty epic hardware just for logging in and being present on the site. With this first big giveaway, and those to come, we hope to show our gratitude to you for being part of this journey. YOU make this community what it is, after all!

And the coolest part: It is going to be a recurring, monthly thing for our Premium Members from now on, who will have a shot at winning cool hardware each month. That way, we want to express our gratitude for those who keep supporting us!

We had been hoping that our community would appreciate the first giveaway already, but what has blown us all away more than we could have ever predicted is the sheer amount of positivity and community spirit that's been ignited during these seven days.

One of our members even boldly stated they would throw the hardware back in for someone else that needs it more, what a truly sporting gesture!

It's so nice to see those that won elated and surprised, but it was equally cool to see all the cheering on, celebratory emotes, and happy comments from members supporting others. Thanks to everyone who participated for motivating us to continue this type of new initiative at OverTake.

As promised in the previous community letter, we go on to the next exciting giveaway featuring Sim-Lab, creator of high-end affordable hardware and sim rigs.

In this next giveaway we're focused on rewarding those of you that through a small yearly contribution continually show support by being a Premium member. First up is a Sim-Lab XP1 two-pedal set, but we won't stop there and include other hardware from Sim-Lab's range in the coming months as well. It also won't be the last time the load-cell XP1 pedals will be up for grabs, either!

Becoming Premium is not only about special perks, it’s also a vital part of supporting our platform and all the features, downloads, initiatives, and constant stream of news, videos and discussion. As we're only getting started with giveaways for our community, keep an eye on our website, as the next one is set to start soon!

Kind regards,
Chris

I think there's a good number of us who already have some good hardware that would have done the same thing - no point depriving somebody of something that they would truly appreciate if it's just going to sit in an unopened box, or even worse, flipped.

Nevertheless props to @Durge Driven for actually saying it.

But they didnt… It was RaceDepartment before

Yes, technically, so who is right....my post is based on who is running the show now;)

Well I can give you analogy fits this, I will get accused of off topic spamming, who cares lol

When you drive BTCC in rF2 who do you thank ? ;)
S397 off course
Without ISI you would have no BTCC, rF2 or LMU :p

Huge difference is Bram or Race Department never got run out of the sim community by bigots ( shrugs )

I don't think anyone is debating who started the site, credit where it's due of course :)
We are focusing on the now and future, and we're bringing some cool new ideas and features, it's up to all of you to say whether you like the direction, because we are listening :)

Can we have a little less finger pointing in the promo' cover shots of the videos you make - I really hate pointing - I also really hate guys who wear flip flops when doing their shopping. I really hate these two things. It gives me nightmares. Other than that I like the site and the direction it's going - a bit more chillaxed

Haha! I actually brought that up with the team, I think it’s partly a cultural thing.

@Durge Driven

Again constantly blaming the Overtake community and the sim racing community for not liking what you like, just stop it, weve heard it countless time from you.

How about flip flops, while shopping, at walmart, with socks on...?

Ah the American dream!

Bring back RaceDepartment
That's not going to happen.
Yes, technically
Not technically, it was founded and created by @Bram Hengeveld
We are focusing on the now and future
My original reply was merely to clarify, and had no intention to kick off an argument.
However your almost casual nod to the man who gathered and guided this huge community into an amazing website for 18 years deserves more than that.
Yes by all mean look to the future but please don't forget the efforts from before.

Let's all just keep this on topic please, this article was never about who started the website. I'm sure there's been countless people involved, huge thanks to all of them!
We're just excited about moving forward and energized about simracing overall 😎
