Abu Dhabi would be the setting for yet another showdown in the desert, closing out the 2024 Formula One season. This time, it would be between McLaren and Ferrari for the Constructors Championship.
After a year of controversy, battles on and off the track, and 24 race previews here on OverTake.gg, the 2024 Formula One season draws to a close. McLaren are Constructors Champions again after 26 years, and we sadly say goodbye to some big names in Formula One.

Unfortunately, none of the exiting drivers received the send-off from the sport they might have hoped for. Bottas and Magnussen hit each other, retiring the Sauber and putting Magnussen entirely out of contention. Perez was also involved in an incident that put him right to the back of the pack, spoiling a potential last-ditch effort to guarantee his Red Bull seat for 2025.

Oscar would recover to 10th, and Verstappen to a fantastic sixth place. Neither race was ruined, but if the eventual race winner, Lando Norris, had a problem, Ferrari's duo would have picked up the pieces and taken the constructor title home to Maranello.
Undoubtedly, McLaren will be looking to defend its title next year with its returning duo of drivers. With the extra cash injection the title offers, will they be able to catch up to Red Bull from the beginning of next season instead of halfway through? Is a period of McLaren dominance on its way to replacing a struggling Red Bull? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
After the race in the garage, an emotional Sainz enjoyed a short highlight reel of all his achievements in red, a moment that will undoubtedly live on with the Spaniard for many years.

As the drivers took their grid slots, many were doing so for potentially the final time in their Formula One careers. KICK Sauber drivers Guanyu Zhou and Valtteri Bottas are on the chopping block. They are headed for the door alongside Haas' Kevin Magnussen, who is off to either the WEC or IMSA with BMW's Hybrid project, and potentially Sergio Perez at Red Bull.Pierre Gasly, Alpine. Piastri & Verstappen Come To Blows
During what would become one of the most chaotic laps of the 2024 F1 season, Oscar Piastri's McLaren was hit around and sent to the back of the field by late-braking Max Verstappen. The two have mostly avoided conflict this year, but in the final race, Oscar's radio made it clear he has had enough of the four-time champion.Verstappen apologised to Piastri straight after the race.
